We spent a week here in August 2016.
The location is amazing. The views are of ocean and rocks. The sunrise and sunset are beautiful. I took no pictures of the interior as I was not expecting to submit a review -- all of my pictures are of the views from the house, and you see those already in the listing.
This is a private location, on a point. There are other homes in view from the property but none is at all close -- the closest is probably 300-400 meters behind this one, at the other end of a cove.
We saw deer, porcupine, and fox in addition to rabbits, and there were seals on a rock in the bay.
The house itself is three bedrooms and 3 1/2 bathrooms. The building was completed at a very high level: the windows are tilt-swing, there is in-floor heating on the ground floor, and the water system seemed to me to be state of the art. In the kitchen there is a JennAir stove and dishwasher and a large bottom freezer refrigerator. The kitchen is really well equipped -- it even has good knives -- and easy to work in. The master bedroom ensuite has a huge bathtub with a view of the bay. Each bedroom has it own ensuite. The home has a washer and dryer. It is quiet (except for the sound of the ocean) and comfortable. Every view from the house is great; every bedroom has a great view, but the master has views in three directions, the sun in the morning, and the moon at night.
There was excellent satellite TV, a vcr and dvd player, and a turntable, but no Internet -- we used a (Bell) phone as a mobile hotspot without any problems.
It took us about 20 minutes to get to Highway 103, so if you are going to shops, beaches, or restaurants, you have to figure that into your travel time. We found this to be the only irritant -- we got a little tired of the road by the end of the week. Note that we left the property almost every day and sometimes twice, though, as we were new to that part of NS, and eager to see the area. If we stayed there, went to the beach on the property, hiked around the property and along the local roads, and cooked more meals there, it would not have been an issue. The road is a little rough in the last kilometer, but we have a sedan with very little clearance, not a SUV or crossover, and we managed without bottoming out.
The furniture is not as shown in the listing that was current when we booked -- there is a sofa and a couple of chairs in the living room area, and the bedrooms have more basic furniture. The floor surfaces are mostly bare. The beds are comfortable, though, and we slept well with that ocean air.
There is no barbecue but there is a fire pit outside. There is no patio furniture but there are beach or camping chairs. We couldn't figure out why the deck had such a high, solid, railing -- you couldn't see much of the wonderful view if you were seated there, and so we chose to sit on the rocks outside to read.
Oh, at night the stars are breathtaking.
We had a great week here exploring the area and Sandy Lane is really easy to deal with. We intend to book again with Sandy Lane.
