The spirit of a 15th-century retreat lives on in a perfect restoration that combines the highest standards of today's accommodation with the charm of ancient things. Only few places have been able to retain through the centuries the unchanged appeal of times so ancient that fade into a distant past. A private road that runs through an oak and chestnut tree forest leads to the hamlet that opens up, today as in the past, to the view of the Sibillini mountains, a few steps away from Camerino in Le Marche, Central Italy.

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.
If you have submitted a review for a holiday rental property, we may also ask that you provide us with proof of your stay to ensure that your review is attached to the correct rental property.
Holiday rental reviews collected via the VRBO website (formerly Homeaway) and syndicated to the Tripadvisor website are not currently subject to Tripadvisor’s standard moderation processes.

A slice of paradise!
My wife and I have spent a week at the beautiful Borgo Belvederi each of the last 2 summers and are already booking our stay there once again for next summer, when we will be taking our children with us. The Borgo Belvederi is situated in the beautiful green Le Marche countryside, which affords the utmost tranquility to the setting. The units are modern, spacious and well equipped, while still keeping intact the rustic facade of an old Italian farmhouse. It is tucked away in a valley surrounded by farmland. Fruit and olive trees accent the large pristine pool, which has an outdoor shower, chaise loungers, ample umbrellas and other seating options. Our host, Luigi, speaks fluent English, in addition to Italian, and has exceedingly surpassed our expectations of hospitality. He has gone out of his way to accommodate our every need and wish! Whether we are popping into the quaint hilltop university town of Camerino, less than 5 kilometres away, hiking in the Monti Sibillini National Park, basking on the sparkling beaches of the Adriatic sea, 45 minutes away or exploring the many hilltop and coastal towns of Le Marche and Umbria, Borgo Belvederi is an ideal launching spot and always provides a quiet respite from our day trips and explorations when we return each night. We would highly recommend the Borgo Belvederi to anyone travelling to or within Italy.

Another brilliant stay at the Borgo
Our third trip. Charming as ever. Still the most comfortable beds in Western Europe. Frette linen and complete quiet. Lovely pool, amazing scenery (we went right up into the Sibillini this time) and fantastic food everywhere. Luigi and Olivia are perfect hosts. Looking forward to our return.

Relax famigliare

Daniele

Superb location with superb quality apt
I feel lucky that I discovered this gem of a place near Camerino in Le Marche when attending Italian classes at Scuola Dante Alighiere a year ago. This is a group of houses renovated with excellent taste only a few years ago. We arrived at the borgo to find our welcoming host Luigi and his lovely wife Olivia ready to make us at home in a delightful apt extremely well fitted and with a nice basket of goodies to bide us over until we could go to the local markets and shop for the wonderful produce of the area. The kitchen had all we needed to make our own evening meals and enjoy them on the terrace in the evening sun! The countryside in Le Marche is lovely with its rolling hills and mountains and was now bursting in late spring, early summer greens. We were given a list of restaurants, shopping markets, villages and day trips to make. I think we did them all with equal pleasure! The scenery is spectacular in Le Marche. This is most certainly a property I can highly recommend anyone looking for quality at good price.

Map
About the neighbourhood
The Vegenana Valley is a gentle and peaceful land that overlooks Camerino on the opposite hill, with its churches and bell towers rising from behind the city walls that date back to 1300. From a distance, the tall buildings appear pink in colour, and the lower ones look almost white-browed by making a stark contrast with the green hills. The Sibillini Mountains on the background still hide the mysterious legend of the sorceress Sibilla, and there linger on ancient tales of knights errant. The Valley surrounds an ancient medieval castle, still inhabited by the noble family that once owned it, and that can be reached through a forest path from the hamlet, across the hill. Walking through the forest, many animals undisturbed by human presence can be seen: foxes, hedgehogs, badgers, fawns, squirrels. The farmhouses scattered across the hills are partly abandoned, and they witness that the Valley had been inhabited over the centuries mostly by farmers, whose activities would gravitate around the city of Camerino. The heart of the Valley, with its original settlement, is reputed to have been the ancient hamlet, now restored. The origins of the hamlet are witnessed by ancient stone engravings and documents.
