The lodge location in the lap of Banjar river. Every room has a spectacular view of the river and a dense forest. We have choosen a River Front Rooms with a french windows opening to the river. The room have everything we need. The food was fabulous. Ramakanth, the restaurant incharge was excellent.

Mr. Krishnan managed the safaris for us at Mukki. Sonu is a excellent naturalist with good knowledge of wildlife.

Overall 7 Tigers stands to be the best in Kanha.

Room Tip: River Front Room

The resort itself a place where one can recharge themselves with full energy, everything here nature based, the food, the breathe, the atmosphere. The rooms are well maintained with all amenities, the food was the highlight being they are located in a remote place we wonder how they offer city hotels standard food. The staff were very polite and smiling.

The safari is taken care by Sonu, a fantastic naturalist with huge knowledge on wildlife, he knows how to track the tiger. We're lucky to spot 2 tigers and a leopard.

It was a great stay at 7 tigers. We highly recommend to friends and relatives.

We stayed at 7 tigers during Holi festival. The stay was wonderful. The food was beyond excellent. We got our permit to the park through VVIP quota and sighting of 2 tigers and sloth bear. The team was very polite and like to help you all the time. Mr. Krishnan is very knowledgeable in wildlife. We will come back.

We visited the property around 1st week of March with family of 6. Booked two river view luxury rooms directly through the front desk. The check in was good, welcome drinks were provided - roohafza sharbat in shot glasses. So overall welcome shots it was and not drinks.
Rooms were average with no frills but it was understood as it’s a property located in the middle of a remote village. Bathroom although was big but shower speed was very low, amenities provided were basic.
The view from the room was good - front view of the river and rear view of the property wilderness.
Now coming to the service - service was okay but the service boys could carry a smile on their face and can be polite. Response from house keeping and room service was decent. Rooms would be cleaned only on demand else not. Sometimes the towels will be replaced by the pool towels and not the bath towels and we thought that’s standard for this property.

Now the biggest disappointment was the safari part. Although we booked day safari and night safari two months in advance through the front desk and got confirmation but our night safari was cancelled 10 mins before departure by Mr
Krishnan stating that due to VIP rush our safari got cancelled !!! - then you should have stayed the probabilities in advance and the expectation setting accordingly ! We were looking forward to this night safari and the last minute cancellation was a big disappointment.
Coming to the food - food was average in taste and variety. Strange rule that lunch buffet does not have non veg food while dinner buffet only has one chicken dish and no egg or meat. Breakfast was average too with very little variations. You don’t have the option to tailor make the food as per your taste. We liked Al a Carte though.
Drinks are pretty expensive with a kingfisher beer costing you 350/- per bottle.
The pool is good and cleaned well but the problem is that there are no rules to the pool. We saw people drenched in Holi color with their underwear diving and swimming in the pool in front of the property manager. Drinks openly spilling into the pool by people drinking by the pool side and Sheesha and smoking going on openly by the pool side was a bit surprising.
One thing noticeable was that the hotel had way too many complimentary guests who were rogue - like senior govt officials of the area, suppliers and vendors of the property etc. these only tar the hotel reputation and profits for which Normal patrons are charged for in their service costs..
The property is only about two people- Mr Krishnan Venkat and Mr Sonu. They are helpful and are the sole decision makers. 7 tigers is not a brand but it’s a proprietary business being run by two managers that’s it so don’t have high expectations.
There are many better property options around and you should explore those. Though we liked the helpful staff but we will not return back.

rvkrishnan, General Manager at 7 Tigers Resort, responded to this reviewResponded 9 March 2018

Dear Sir,

First of all we would like to Thank you for reviewing us. We would like to clarify the points below:

1) It is an universal procedure that the welcome drink we're served in shots and is to welcome you with the drink. If you might have requested we should have given in a bigger glass too. Most of the Indian guest skips the welcome drink and being in wildlife we discourage wastage.

2) Though you have already accepted that we are located in the middle of the forest but at the same time we provide all the amenities from Toothbrush to toiletries but there are some amenities provided on request.

3) since we promote responsible tourism we have 95% local tribals for their survival though they are not professional hoteliers but we trained them for the hotel management. Regarding the house keeping or cleaning the rooms, we always ask the guest to let us know when their rooms to be cleaned in order not to disturb their privacy. Moreover it is clearly mentioned in every room's washroom that the room will be cleaned once the guest took their routine shower and could be cleaned once a day in order to minimize the wastage of water resources.

4) The day when you are here, it was drizzling and raining, it was quite difficult for us to wash and dry the towels in order laundry service. It was a great task that we undergone such situation when the hotel was full and it was difficult situation to manage.

5) The night safari could be booked only 3 hours before the safari time and the carrying capacity is only 3 Jeeps. This night safari is done only in buffer zone not in core area. This fact is well known to wildlifer and the tourist Since these are tiger reserves in the protected area. Regarding your night safari, we arranged for it but due to heavy rush of VVIP movement during the HOLI festival and there was huge wait list of safaris for the VVIP they moved all the tickets to VVIP quota though you will appreciate that we arranged your core area safari in the same day morning without any Hassel.

6) The food served in our lodge is of high standards and 90% of our bookings comes because of our quality and taste of food. We clearly mentioned in our email confirmation that we serve vegetarian lunch and a non vegetarian dinner. The non vegetarian dinner means a non vegetarian dish will be included to the main menu. In Madhya Pradesh and Chattisgarh belt the guest prefer Chicken and not a goat meat. The goat meat could be provided on request. Please note that we do not sell liquor or beer in our lodge but at the same time we do not discourage the guest to bring their own liquor or beer and being it was a HOLI festival we tried to manage a beer for you from our out source. The local rates itself RS. 350 as we do not keep any margin to sell spirit.

7) You know very well that the HOLI festival is celebrated all over India and every guest want to celebrate their Holi with friends and relatives in the lodges. Every guest coming here to enjoy and celebrate their festival so we always suggest the guests those who were interested only in wildlife should not come during the HOLI festival. This kind of scenerio could be seen in all the lodges in Kanha but not only at 7 Tigers.

We hope that above explanation will be to your entire satisfaction.

Thank you staying with us.

Warm Regards
Krishnan
