“A wonderful place for two in a lovely location”

The Little Roost is an attached cottage, perfect for a couple, done-up beautifully: the internal space is well exploited and all the details are just perfect, with good taste and good workmanship all around. It even has a terrace for those warm summer evenings and a car-port, very useful as the road very is narrow. Even more beautiful is the location: you can walk down to Lyme Regis in 25 minutes, following the old Dorset path, and so avoid the complexities of having to drive there. The walk goes, from just outside the cottage, along the river Lym in the middle of a beautiful forest. A corner of Paradise.

“Cosy, historic, semi-detached cottage with excellent amenities and fantastic hosts”

We had a lovely time chilling out: it is a great place for getting away from it all. Small, but comfortable, with everything you need and lots of individual features. Our hosts were very friendly, and there for anything that we might need. There were fresh flowers and and a welcome pack, with local ale and other local produce waiting for us, and Rose brought us more flowers from the garden the following week. It is a character property that has been renovated and decorated to a high standard. The local shop is about 5 minutes walk and well stocked. Further afield, it's a lovely walk into Lyme along the river path - less strenuous than the hills you encounter if you take the road. There are also buses into Lyme running from the top of the road if you don't fancy walking or driving. We walked into Lyme a few times for lunch and evening meals. We really enjoyed our stay.

Wonderful.
A warm welcome from our lovely hosts. And Little Roost is warm and welcoming too.
We loved the riverside walk down into Lyme and enjoyed breakfasts and star-gazing on the roof terrace.
Comfortable and very well equipped.

“Great little place”

This place is only small, but great for a couple to stay in. We also brought our small baby (10 months - we brought our own travel cot), although not perfect for a small baby crawling about, it was adequate (much better for a couple). The bedroom was large enough for a travel cot and still space to get around the room. The location was perfect for us, on a quiet lane a short walk from Uplyme pub etc, and right by the footpath to Lyme Regis (20ish minutes walk away).

The facilities were great, comfy bed, good shower (no bath), good kitchen, sofa and TV. Everything you need to relax. There was even tea, coffee and milk on arrival so we didn't have to go to the shop immediately. For sunny days there is a small outside space to lounge and read a book. The wifi was a little dodgy occassionally (you needed to be near the range extender), but this wasn't a problem for us.

Overall a great place, we would highly recommend it.

Really enjoyed our stay with one of the highlights being the walk from the cottage into Lyme which was beautiful. We hardly used the car and were able to unwind in the peaceful location.
