“Fantastic country getaway”
Reviewed 15 September 2015 for a stay in August 2015

Our stay at little roost in late August this year was absolutely fantastic. The cottage was perfect for 2 people, and was exactly what we'd been looking for in a country holiday.

It was very well looked after, very clean and with very comfortable furniture and great modern facilities. It also maintained the countryside feel, which was something we really wanted. Rosemary was waiting as we arrived to welcome us, which was a very nice touch, as was the fresh local bread, eggs and milk left for us.

The local area was also extremely nice, Uplyme is a very pleasant little village with welcoming locals. I highly recommend the Talbot Arms, very good pub (And the local beer was outstanding) which was only a couple of minutes walk through a nice country lane away.
With only a 30 second drive, or a nice 10/15 minute walk, to Lyme Regis as well, there was just the right amount of stuff nearby to do while making sure the week was as relaxing as we'd desired. All the local food was brilliant; the difference it makes eating just locally sourced food is unbelievable. I'll miss this a lot living near a major city.

Overall, this was a perfect holiday, would highly recommend this cottage.

Great that you enjoyed your stay at Little Root and made the most of the local countryside. Yes, there's a plentiful choice of high quality fresh food in local restaurants, pubs, farm shops and takeaways, both on the coast and inland. Any time you have a yearning to return you know where we are... With best wishes, R

“Home from home, short of nothing”
Reviewed 8 July 2015 for a stay in June 2015

We have just returned from a wonderful week at Little Roost. It is truly an idyllic place to stay. It has everything you could wish for and is ideally situated on a country lane in walking distance of Lyme Regis either by road or a beautiful walk by the river. The roof terrace is a lovely place for a relaxing breakfast or just to relax at any time- a brilliant idea. Rosemary is a most welcoming host and gave us loads of ideas of places to go which was very useful as this was our first trip to the area. Lyme Regis is beautiful by the way.

Little Roost was lovely. Great having the outside space on the roof and the lovely riverside walk to town was really convenient. Recommend a visit.

This place is lovely.stayed 27-30 April. Lovely welcome and welcome
Pack ! Left to your own devices past that, lovely and homely cottage that the owners have gone out of their way to think about . Those little touches. Would not only recommend but would happily stay again. Great place to use as a base or stay there and unwind. The balcony upstairs will be lovely in the summer, we managed to get up there for a cuppa at least! So pleased with that place and can't thank the owners enough ( they are on the other end of the property if needed).

“Fantastic time!”

When I booked the Little Roost Rosemary answered me really quickly and gave me directions to get there. Her communication was fantastic.

The Little Roost is a special place in a quiet idyllic spot in Lyme Regis. When we arrived our welcome pack was waiting for us of local produce, eggs, bread and local beer which we sampled on the sunny terrace and we felt really at home and Marlon the cockerel welcomed us too! The cottage is spotlessly clean with all you could need without being crammed. Thoughtfully decorated with an incredible shower which we took full advantage of! and a quirky spiral staircase up to the second floor. The bed is super comfortable and we were woken in the morning by birdsong and the sound of the nearby river-so peaceful.

The walk into Lyme Regis is also beautiful with hedgerows of wild garlic and bluebells alongside the winding river. There are so many bridle paths and things to explore along the way. Look out for the pastel coloured stone cottages and the Mill Town Bakery is a must!

We met Rosemary and Duncan who were so helpful and friendly telling us of the places to visit and things to see (and taste!) -Rosemary even gave me a spade and pot to put my garlic in to take home. We were lucky enough to be able to spend an extra night there and so glad we did as we have come home super relaxed and recharged. If you choose to stay here you won't be disappointed-we didn't want to leave.

Thank you both for a really special time
Alison and Malcolm
