This hotel had been booked for my husband and I as a birthday treat for me. Before we went, I had read the reviews and wasn't expecting much.
What a surprise! The main house is beautiful and the history behind it is fascinating. The staff were very welcoming and check in was easy.
I already knew that we weren't staying in the main hotel and that infact we were in the unappealing concrete block outside. But with the amount we paid we were pleasantly surprised with how nice the room was. Very clean and modern if a little on the small side.
Included in our booking was a 3 course dinner the first night. Food was delicious and I thoroughly recommended the scotch egg! Again waitress staff were so friendly.
We also had breakfast both mornings. There was plenty to choose from and we left feeling satisfied.
Overview : I would upgrade to superior room, that way you are in the main house. But other than that, I would thoroughly recommend anyone to come here for a weekend. Especially if you can get the deal that we had. £140 for two nights, breakfast both mornings and the three course meal on the first night. Bargain!More
