“Another lovely week on Orkney”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 15 April 2012

We chose to go back to Buxa having decided to travel over Easter as we knew how efficient the heating was compared to the unreliability of the weather. We weren't dissapointed with either.
The chalet remain clean, bright, well equipped and with its fantastic view over to Hoy and up to Stromness.
Highlights included taking the car over to Hoy and seeing more of the island, including the lifeboat museum, having a guided tour of the Ness battery, near Stromness, and driving around the north part of west mainland stopping off at various archeological sites, beaches, craft places etc. had two wonderful meals at the Creel, St Margaret's Hope.

The best possible choice you could make when choosing a self catering property in Orkney! The views are to die for, and the Croft House is very special, with log burner, fabulous easy to use kitchen, lovely bathrooms and bedrooms. The situation between Kirkwall and Stromness worked really well for us, and is within easy driving distance of all the historic sights, beaches etc.
The owls and hares also kept us entertained for hours! Perfect holiday all round.

We spent a week in Orkney and stayed in the wonderful Buxa Farm Croft House. This newly renovated farm house was perfect for our family of 5. The house was very well appointed, with everything you needed in the kitchen for self-catering meals, great heating system, cozy fireplace, well-equipped television/video equipment (to entertain the kids on rainy days!), clean comfy bedrooms, and nicely fitted bathrooms. The views over the water were mesmerizing, and we could sit in the cozy kitchen for hours watching the wildlife. The house is very centrally located on Orkney Mainland and we were able to drive everywhere on the island in a very short time.

A lovely apartment, warm & cosy, with lovely views. It was our first visit to Orkney and we would love to come back. Can thoroughly recommend it.

We are just back from a 4 nights stay in Orkney. The cottage really reinforces the feeling of old Scotland. A very well renovated Scottish cottage. Clean, very well furnished and good heating, which is a must in Orkney unprecticable weather! The view is unique. and a playground right outside the door, a treat for the kids! I highly recommend the place.
