Fantastic location. Stunning scenery. Ideal for walkers and dog owners. We will miss walking up the hill and sitting in the field looking over to Wales. Of course the terrific weather helps but a great holiday enjoyed by all
This cottage is in the most idilic and peaceful location, where the only noise you can hear are the birds and the odd fly! Great walking from your door step so perfect if you have dogs. Good access to all other areas of Exmoor too, so a great base for a holiday.
A lovely cottage set in a beautiful and wild landscape. The cottage was clean and well looked after. The heating wasn't working first night, but it was out of our host's control and our host provided electric heaters, which solved the problem. Our host was very nice and helpful. No further problems of any kind. The cottage is a great base for exploring north Exmoor and the coastal area especially for walks which is the reason we stayed here. You need good footwear and outdoor clothing especially waterproofs though and spares. It did rain a bit and one day there was sleet which settled on high ground, so in these conditions caution is needed walking or driving. I'd recommend NT Watersmeet for a visit and local walks. Plenty of wildlife too from the sheep and ponies to the birds - we even got to see a Peregrine Falcon. I would definitely recommend. Yenworthy cottage.
We booked here for a long weekend to celebrate our Mum’s 60th Birthday. Wine and flowers on arrival were a lovely touch. It’s a roomy cottage with good amenities. Very remote and has amazing views.
We took a few dogs and enjoyed some walks and relaxing in front of the cozy log burner, there were plenty of logs available but you have to take your own paper and kindling!!!
The bedrooms were a good size and the beds very comfortable.
The guest information folder was a good read.
To save us shopping on route we pre-ordered a grocery shop to be delivered on our arrival (Tesco)
There isn’t a vast range of takeaways, Porlock has a fish & chip shop and a pizza shop. There after it’s a drive to Minehead where you apparently have an array of choice but this is a good 25min drive so would assume the food would be cold upon eating at the cottage (we had a toddler with a bedtime routine)
Highly recommend eating at ‘The Rising Sun’ in Lynmouth!
Probably the best cottage we have rented in England, Scotland and Wales. Charming hosts - nothing was too much trouble. The accommodation was excellent and the location stunning. We have already booked again!
