We stayed there for a couple of days for work, the place is great we had dinner the first nigth and it was great, very good wine, the place used to be the house of the church next to it it has 400 years but the place is very well conserved, Remy is a small town so you may not have a lot to do other than walk and enjoy, there is a bi city 20 minutes away so not a big deal, the breakfas is good too, not a lot but really home made, I would use this for a pleassure trip too, every room is different and has a really nice athmosphere, you are serviced by the owner of the place and she really takes good care of you, she does not speak a lot f english but enough to comunicate, I loved this place

Room Tip: If you dont mind to take a bath in a tub ask the room on the top of the roof, is funny and different...

Great night in the "Chambre Gothique" at the Manoir Saint Charles. Catherine was wonderful and so welcoming. We arrived at Charles de Gaulle on an early flight from Miami. Our bedroom was ready at 11 am and we were able to take a shower and relax before going sightseeing in the afternoon. The room was beautiful and very comfortable with an access to the terrace. That evening we had an incredible dinner! Catherine is an amazing cook and what a superb meal. Everything from the apperitif to the dessert was excellent with good portion size. The breakfast the following morning, was set up in a beautiful room and was also excellent with organic eggs etc. At 30 mn away from Charles de Gaulle, it is a great place to stop not only to visit the region but to spend the night before a flight.

Room Tip: Our room (the Gothique) was beautiful, very well appointed with access to the terrace.

Madame Catherine is the heart and soul of the Manoir. She provides the warmest of welcomes and nothing is too much trouble. Franglais is the language of the day so don't worry if you don't speak much French, a few gestures go a long way and its part of the fun.

If you're after a cheap B&B, this isn't the place for you. If you want excellent rooms with quirky character, cosy beds with crisp ironed sheets and duvets, and quirky ensuite batrooms then it is. (No baths only showers but they're very good) Try the "Tour" room, it's circular within a turret! There's also free WiFi and dinner if you book in dvance.

The Manior is an old building of various ages, all the wooden floors are a bit uneven and creak a bit but that's part of the charm. Off street parking is available for a few cars.

Breakfast offers an array of cold continental breakfast items plus the option of a boiled egg from local chickens. I think they're the ones in the back garden. Dinner if booked in advance is a long drawn out affair. An aperitif at about 8pm followed by starter, main course, cheese and dessert. (The starter might not arrive for a while, but we're on holiday!) All the food is cooked by Catherine and is of restaurant quality or better. We had 3 dinners on our break and the dishes included roasted pork fillet, asparagus in horseradish sauce, wild salmon in hollandaise sauce, pan fried duck breasts in plum sauce, strawberries infused with mint, madagascan vanilla ice cream and various tarts and cakes etc

The Manoir is well placed for an overnight stay on the way to or back from the channel ports or tunnel. Remy is a sleepy village but the busy town of Compiegne is a few miles away as is the interesting town of Chantilly and its heritage. Paris and even various parts of the coast are also doable. You need a car to get around and see the sights but without one you probably wouldn't stay here anyway.

We are definitely going to return in August for a stopover when we drive to the south of France. It'll be great to experience the Manoir again and experience Catherine's cooking.

Room Tip: Ask for the "Tour" for the room in the turret. It's not the biggest but how many time...

Stayed here for one night on our way to Limousin to break up the journey. The room was lovely and quiet - had a great nights sleep! Off road parking available, which was good since our car was packed. We had dinner and I was 7 months pregnant and nothing was too much trouble. Dinner was a traditional French fare all served lovely and no complaints - my husband is a trained chef so that is good for me!!! Breakfast was lovely - a variety of yoghurts, breads, jams, eggs, croissants etc. the place is pricey, however I thought it was well worth it. Will definitely return.

When we go to France we always stay in chambres d'hotes. In the past we have stayed in places that were similar or better/nicer than this one and where we paid a lot less.
The room is nice but does not justify 140 €. Bathroom could have been cleaner. Very good bed: we did sleep very well. Breakfast is good.
We had dinner there as well. Food was OK. Nothing more, nothing less. Bear in mind that water/wine are not included in the price and that they charge restaurant prices for it, while the choice is quite limited. Aperitif and coffee are included. After all we paid 86€ for dinner.
Will we go back to this place? No
Do I recommend this place? No
