外の檜ぶろは37℃だったので
ある人たちは爆睡しているかのよう。 す~とゆらゆらしながら寝ている感じ。
体内温度とあまり差がないためかず~とは言っていられる感じですね。

Ishiwarinoyu Onsen was a bit of a disappointment, and far from the best of what Japan has to offer in hot springs. I have three problems with this place. Firstly, it is one of only two onsens in the area and was excessively packed when I visited it at around 5PM on a July afternoon. Busloads of golfers, students and holiday makers were using the onsen, which meant that none of the free lockers in the dressing rooms were available. This meant that alternative lockers had to be used, but you need to pay extra for that.

You are also expected to bring your own towel. From my frequent visits to Japanese onsens, this is not the norm. Anyway, not having a towel with me I had to rent one at a further cost.

The onsen baths themselves are far from large. There are two outside baths (rotenburo), one being rock-based, and the other being a wooden bath. Only three or four people could be accommodated in the rock bath, while the wooden bath had a strange feel to it, and the water was set at 37 degrees – which is considered lukewarm.

The final concern I had is that there is not really any view, and you certainly won’t be able to see Mt. Fuji, even on a clear day.

There is free parking, although that too was jam-packed. The local bus also provides easy access, although judging by the timetable that only comes about once an hour.

For 700 yen (exclusive of the extras), the overall experience was average.
