Volta Redonda is not a place anyone would choose to go during a vacation. It does not rank amond the most beautiful brazilian cities. But, for those who have to go, this hotel is a good option
located on a hill, in a fairly quiet spot, surrounded by trees and lots of birds.
The entrance lobby and hallways of this early 1940's building are really nice and clean, almost feels like a museum, with several art pieces on the walls. The grounds are well kept and a little walk around feels good at the end of the afternoon when temperature is a bit cooler.
The room was pretty tired, carpet starting to get undone along the seams, stained paint on the closet doors and it could have used better cleaning (our toilet seat had not been cleaned, i will spare the details). Furniture is old, tired, decoration is minimal and tasteless.
Staff was totally nice and helpful. We needed our suits pressed, it was taken care of quite quickly and they were immaculately pressed. Everything we needed was provided, even scotch tape to wrap up a gift. We had lunch at the restaurant. Food and price were good, service was also nice, but a bit slow to start. I actually had to go in to ask for someone to come to our table after we had waited a bit over 5 min.More
