“Fantastic! Relaxing and peaceful stay at the beautiful bell ringers cottage!”
Reviewed 16 March 2014 for a stay in March 2014

My partner and I stayed at the bell ringers cottage with our pug for three nights in March 2014 . We were looking for a quiet relaxing break with beautiful scenery around to take our pug for walks and that's exactly what we found here at the bell ringers cottage. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! The cottage is tastefully decorated and is spotlessly clean throughout. Carol the owner has made sure you have everything you need within the cottage (even down to providing bowls ect for our pug although we did bring our own.)
We were welcomed into the cottage by Carol on arrival and shown around. Carol gave us all the information we needed and we knew if there was anything we needed to ask she was just a phone call away. Carol also thoughtfully provided a welcome hamper with bread, milk, biscuits, butter ect and even some treats for our pug! This was very much appreciated!
The sitting room was lovely and cosy with freeview tv, DVD player, stereo and wifi internet.
The kitchen was fully fitted and has everything you need and more!
Upstairs: the bathroom is a good size with a double shower. There is a twin bedroom with plenty of storage/hanging space within. The double bedroom also had plenty of storage/hanging space. It has a sweet dressing table and mirror also. The bed was comfortable but I must say it was very creaky even with the slightest of movement but that didn't make it less comfortable just a bit annoying.
We were quite lucky with the weather during our stay and the garden is a real sun trap! There is also garden furniture provided.

Opposite is a church and just a short walk to small post office/shop. The neighbours are friendly and the area is lovely and peaceful.
Overall I would rate our stay here Perfect!

Many thanks to Carol!

Kerri, Jason and Hugo the pug.

“Lovely cottage, helpful owner, cracking wood burner!”
Reviewed 16 February 2014 for a stay in February 2014

Myself and my partner stayed for two nights in February for our anniversary and we can't fault the place!

Carol was really helpful before (and when) we arrived and our welcome hamper was very well received! The double bed is very comfy (if a little creaky!) with plenty of redding and towels etc. We didn't use the spare room with the two single beds. Te kitchen is well equipped, the bathroom is clean and large with a great shower. Very comfortable living room with a fantastic wood burner, decent TV/DVD player and stereo. All the wood, kindling etc for the fire was provided.

Good local pubs/restaurants and a shop round the corner. We had an Indian takeaway from Ruthin (approx six miles away) too.

Would recommend the Sugar Plum Tea Room in Ruthin and some of the walks around the canal and castle in Llangollen.

Our only complaint was the weather but I'm not sure we can blame Carol for that one!

Lovely stay and would highly recommend this cottage.

“Absolutely superb !!”
Reviewed 14 January 2014 for a stay in October 2013

What a fantastic place to stay ! The Bell Ringer's Cottage was absolutely wonderful from the minute we first set foot inside the cottage until the minute we left. Carol was extremely hospitable and helpful both before we left Australia when we booked the cottage, as well as all the detailed information she gave us via emails, to the very warm welcome we received upon our arrival at the cottage until the farewell she gave us when it was time to be on our way. The hamper she left us was a very welcome touch and very much enjoyed !! The cottage itself was ideal....very cosy, warm, clean and made us feel like it was our home. Carol had left us some wood to burn on the fire (although we didn't use this as making fires is an every day occurrence for us in Winter !!), but was a nice touch and we're quite sure most other people would appreciate this gesture on a cold Welsh Winter's evening !! The kitchen was complete with every utensil one would need for cooking. The cottage is beautiful, both inside and out, and overlooks the beautiful old church opposite. We will definitely stay here again when next we visit Britain, and hopefully for longer next time. We are loathe to give the Bell Ringers Cottage such a good review as we don't want the whole world knowing how wonderful this cottage is in fear that it will be booked out when we want it for ourselves !!
