We stayed for two nights at The Belfry and we were delighted with our stay. Stayed in Bryon room which was spotless and extremely cosy. The owners have paid a lot of attention to all th elittle touches including fluffy dressing gowns, L'Occitane toiletires; tea and coffee facilites in the room (always replenished when they freshen your room) and the use of the lounge with newspapers, magazines and books.
The building is extremely old but the rooms have double glazing at the windows - we did not hear the road outside but faintly heard the church bells rung from the village church across the road. The breakfasts are served in the dining room and are delicious. Beautiful presents and clearly local produce is used. We enjoyed the 'Full Belfry' breakfast (the works) and also salmon and scrambled eggs too. There is an abundance of fresh fruit, yoghurts, toast and yoghurts. They also cater for gluten free and vegetarian diets. It is definitely a 4 star accommodation. It is a little 'quirky' inside but utterly charming with it. The owners are extremely friendly and welcoming and gave us information about the local area which is also left in your room.
Please note that the pub (Yarcombe Inn) across the road is closed and therefore your nearest pub is anything from 2.5 miles - 4.5 miles away. We took the owner's recommendation of the Candlelight Inn in Chard and it was utterly fantastic - a very special place and you MUST book in advance. We attempted to book a taxi but as the nearest taxi company has to come out from Chard first, the costs were through the roof for a 4 mile (only one way!) journey at £34. We just decided to not drink and drive ourselves instead. You are in the middle of the countryside but there are plenty of walks to be had. Taunton is only 25 miles away and we did pop to the cinema one day there. the other pub we ate in was the Sidmouth Arms and again, was a lovely local pub.
The Belfry is a lovely place to stay and we felt very at home here. The owners have created beautiful rooms along with a fabulous breakfast, you cannot go wrong. We shall return I am sure.

Room tip: Bryon room is small double room with a fabulous power shower - very cosy.

Just a very quick visit to Honiton and needed a B&B. So impressed. Beautiful room, gorgeous toiletries, linen etc. Spotlessly clean, good quality refreshments and fantastic breakfast. We had dinner in the evening in the Sidmouth Arms which was recommended and we really enjoyed. Would definitely come back.

Needed a place to stay for a university visit on Saturday. My husband advised the owner we would be late to arrive, due to travelling and nothing was any trouble. We had booked 2 rooms which were both clean, comfortable with plenty of tea/coffee with biscuits provided. A great nights sleep with a wonderful breakfast provided the next morning. We would definitely use the Belfry again.

Room tip: We had Keats and Tennyson rooms and both were lovely

The building was fantastic but the conversation to BnB / hotel wasn't terribly sympathetic. The owners were great however and breakfast was also good.
It was a reasonable place to base ourselves for a visit to the area.
