We spent one night at the Ship for my other half's' birthday. We stayed in the "Suite with Sea View" which has wonderful views over the channel. The room is a good size with space for a sofa, armchair and a very comfortable bed. There is even a small fridge containing fresh milk to make tea and coffee with. The room was spotlessly clean. The en suite has a large shower and again is spotless. Wendy the owner is brilliant, nothing was too much trouble - she even stood in the road with me "guarding" a parking space while my other half moved our car from the only space we'd been able to find at the other end of Sandgate. All the staff were friendly and helpful. The beer was great and the food in the restaurant was the best we'd had in a long time. The restaurant itself gives you great views of the channel and we were served quickly by very efficient and friendly staff. It's a family run pub and B&B that's perfect for a seaside getaway. The breakfast was also the best we've had in a very long time - cooked to perfection - it set us up for the rest of the day. If you are looking for a room on the seafront with comfort, great beer and brilliant food try the Ship, we're glad we did.

We stayed here before going to France on the Eurotunnel so only stayed one night but was really glad we did.
This area has really suffered due to the recent migrant troubles with the Eurotunnel. Bookings have been cancelled and we were unsure ourselves at one point but the quality of the room on offer(sea view), cleanliness and general comfort of the accommodation along with a really delicious dinner with again, great sea views ensured a great start to our holiday.
I urge you to give this place a whirl if you are en route to France or fancy a delicious dinner which has some lovely fish courses in very scenic surroundings.

Room Tip: Penthouse at the top has a lounge with views of the beach.

We stopped here en route to the Channel Tunnel. When we first pulled up. ....just before midnight, the pub was in full Friday night throttle and I did think Oh dear. But the doorman welcomed us, the ladies behind the bar were so welcoming and waited for us to have a quick drink before showing us to to our spacious room. The mattress was hugely comfy, the room not over furnished but had all you need. We left early and just left the key and saw the door to the car park was open for us. We had the lady's number in case we needed her and I I really wish our stay wasn't so brief as the pub had charm and atmosphere, the ladies lovely and the room would have been ample for a short break.

We made a short stop there on the way home. The hotel is located in an old house which would probably need a good deal of renovation, nevertheless the room we had was neat, tidy and very clean. The bathroom was modern and functional in all the expected ways (which cannot always be taken for granted in the UK).
The room was very well equipped and the small fridge in the room included complementary drinks (water), which I found a very nice gesture.
The highlight of this short stay was the restaurant with excellent food, made and served with a creative touch.
We will be back!
