Just returned from another lovely, relaxing week at beautiful Cuilcheanna.
Visited with friends and had the use of Rowan Cottage and one of the Westmoreland caravans. Both sets of accomodation were clean, comfortable (no signs of damp re. Traveller Carnoustie's post) and well-equipped. Rowan Cottage has what must be an unsurpassed 180 degree view from Glencoe to Loch Linnhe. It was an utter joy to sit with a glass of wine, take in the view and watch the housemartins swoop the hillside. Would highly recommend to anyone who needs to completely switch-off and recharge their batteries. The short, relatively easy walk (some heather to negotiate) to the top of the hill brings great rewards - don't forget your camera!
Five mins around the corner is the Corran Ferry to Ardnamurchan, which is a must for anyone who wants to get even further off the beaten track.
You'll find that Mr & Mrs Dewar are gracious and attentive hosts.

We stayed here as a family in July. The smell of damp was overpowering. All the cupboards had a damp odour all our clothes had to be washed on our return home whether they had been worn or not. Did complain to the owner and he was apologetic and offered us a caravan to sleep in but we were not allowed to take our dog in and we were not allowed to leave the dog alone in the house. Would have meant us all sleeping separately would have impacted on our family holiday therefore declined the offer. The washing machine and the dryer were two pounds each for each use. Did not feel there were sufficient mugs etc for a family of four. Location is beautiful but did not make up for the poor accommodation. Would not recommend this cottage.

We were very late checking in, well past the stipulated time. We called in advance, but still, it was late. Kirsten was very understanding and was there to welcome our family of five when we trooped in at nearly 10pm. She showed us to our rooms and asked if we needed milk for tea or coffee before bed. She then prepared three small flasks of hot milk. I love, LOVE, that our host did not believe in serving creamer in tiny plastic containers. For me, it was a touch of luxury I really appreciated. The rooms were large, the beds were very comfortable and the bathrooms were a good size. The living area was spacious and airy, beautifully decorated. The location is a little far out of the nearest town, especially for dining, but a great transit point for touring in the area. My stay here was much too short.

Beautiful location, everything was perfect.
The house is beautiful, well kept and our room was lovely with ensuite and all facilties you could need.
The breakfast was substantial and freshly made with a good selection of food on a planned menu. No evening meals but there is a selection of eating places, including those that will deliver, within a short walk/drive.
Very professionally run but still manages to feel welcoming and homely. They are dog friendly but for limited numbers so check when booking. Needless to say, we were all made to feel welcome and looked after, including our pooch!

We really enjoyed our stay here, and the hosting was excellent, the location fantastic, and the room was superbly appointed, with attention to detail throughout.

Our room had views of the Loch, the mountains and the garden.

Breakfast was fantastic, and we were given great assistance with restaurant recommendations and bookings.

Worth paying the higher rates.
