Nice pub but the beers a bit on the pricey side went in to watch the football and there’s plenty of TVs so it’s great for that , pint of SAN Miguel was £4.45 just down the road it was £4.00 and in my local it’s £3.00 , yes I know they need to make money but I myself won’t be going in paying them prices ..

Thank Ramsbottom1

Hello there, Not sure where you have got the £4.45 from?! Our San Miguel is £4.20. It has just had an increase due to our pub co adding 3.5% to all our products. I don’t believe your local to be near here so really isn’t a comparison. Our prices are in line with other establishments in the area. We are not a free house so incur high fees. We glad you liked the pub.

Good selection of ales in this local pub
Sunday lunch of beautifully cooked lamb came with 6 vegetables plus roast potatoes and it was very well cooked. My wife had the home made steak and ale pie with flaky crust that comes also in a smaller portion.
Service was friendly.
We’d been talking about trying this place for a while but now having been,we’ll certainly go back.

A proper pub, with friendly staff and a lovely ambiance.

The Sunday roast was very, very good. Lamb was good and a decent portion size. Yorkshire pud, roasties and gravy delicious. Sprouts too hard.

The fish and chips were delicious. Proper home cooked chips and that makes all the difference.

Steak and ale pie again with home cooked chips was excellent.

Good food at a reasonable price.

There is also the option to chose a smaller portion of some of the meals (marked SP on the menu) which is very useful for those with a smaller appetite. This is far better than the "lighter bites" menu you often see that consists of toasties and gammon.

Our daughter was able to have the fish and chips which was SP but was still an adult meal.

Try the snaffles nuts served in a cup at the bar, very tasty.

Loo's were clean and fresh flowers in there, what a lovely touch.

. Sprouts a little undercooked
