Fabulous hotel - very classy and impressive but not at all stuffy. Staff were great, especially with our 22 month old daughter. The room we were given was perfect - it was in one of the annex buildings so no long noisy corridors outside, and there was plenty of space for the travel-cot. The swimming pool even had a family changing room. Food and service in The Vines was very good, and the children's menu excellent. Breakfast in the main restaurant also extremely good. This is a perfect location to explore Chester's attractions (zoo, Cheshire Oaks, etc) without having to stay in the city centre. Highly recommended and hope to be back!

Just got back from Carden Park celebrating my parents birthdays with family. I have been to this hotel what must be half a dozen times before and the hotel itself is fantastic. What was not so fantastic this time is the total lack of efficiency from staff in the bar and Redmonds restaurant. Totally not good enough. Yesterday afternoon/evening the service in the bar was awful. Empty glasses, tea cups, teapots, plates left everywhere. Even when we politely requested they be moved we were ignored. Two bar men said we had to wait as they were busy doing cocktails whilst looking how to make them on the Internet...obviously prior to charging customers about a tenner each! Bar filthy and staff using fingers to put lemon in drinks. Breakfast this morning was a sham. Queues out of the door to get in and then again for the buffet. Not enough staff on. Horrendous experience. Apart from this the hotel and spa is lovely and I sincerely hope that when we go back the service is a 100% better. Have informed reception manager of my comments.

My sister and I like to meet here a couple of times a year to spend a bit of quality time together. Carden Park has never disappointed us. The rooms are excellent: spacious, with two double beds, well-supplied with toiletries, mineral water, tea and coffee etc. The pool and spa facilities are a great feature of the stay and the extensive grounds provide opportunity for pleasant walks. Breakfast and dinner are both of a high quality.Above all, all the staff in their various capacities (reception, the restaurants, the spa area and room servicing ) are unfailingly pleasant and efficient, which adds greatly to the pleasure of staying here.

Myself and my wife arrived early on the Saturday morning 11.00 am just to check out the hotel and grounds knowing check in was at 15.00 I went to reception to see if I could alter our evening meal times which we did the receptionist was brilliant and we're told we could have our room The room was at the front of the hotel it was spacious and imaculte with a terrific view over the hotel grounds Evening time we had dinner in the Redmond restaurant accompanied by live piano music The food was excellent so was the service the same could be said about breakfast at the same venue Overall excellent stay would recommend this hotel
