Seen one fort you seen them all
Take a guide but don’t have high expectations on knowledge.

This is a beautiful hilltop fort near to the 'Pink City' of Jaipur. It is possible to walk up but most people choose either an elephant ride (over which there appears to be some controversy) or a jeep ride to get to the fort. Divided into three quite distinct parts, the fort has some incredible architecture and is well worth a visit.

Amazing place albeit it being very busy. The only grumble I have is the use of elephants for the trek to the entrance gate. In the sweltering heat, these animals go up and down the path for hours to take visitors to the entrance gate. We have two legs to walk or there are also jeeps. Use them instead!

Amber fort is the top tourist spot of Jaipur as you can explore the royal heritage, great Rajasthani food nearby and elefant ride for kids.
