We stayed at the hotel for the weekend when we were going to a family wedding in the New Forest. The couple running the hotel are very friendly and helpful. They made us all a lovely breakfast to order and gave us lots of advice on local things to do. The rooms are big and clean with everything you need - including plenty of sockets! The hotel is well situated on a main road (no noise in room though) and easy to find (remember to put the correct name in sat nav though - there is a Forest Lodge Hotel nearby - not the same!) close to all attractions in the New Forest and with lots of parking with a restaurant next door and a nice pub 2 minutes walk away. We left our passports in the room and didn't find out until we got to the airport. They really helped us in getting our passports back and we can't thank them enough!

We chose to stay here because of the location (booked a day at Forest Falconry) a 5 minute drive away. This is no boutique hotel; the building is rather tired and has limited facilities. But for a short stay it worked well. The rooms were very clean, big comfortable bed and the shower was great - what more do you need. We had a room at the back so no problem with traffic noise (it is on the A36!) the owner was very welcoming and their website shows it as it is.

Room tip: If you are not used to traffic noise ask for a quiet room.

My friend and I booked a 2 night stay. The owners couldn't be more friendly and accommodating.
It was during the hot weather so we had the windows open and there was road noise but it was a similar problem at home.
The breakfasts were lovely, we had to prebook the night before.
Also enjoyed a lovely curry in the restaurant next door.
I left some things in the drawer and upon contacting the hotel they kindly posted them back
Will definitely return.

We had booked in for 2 nights. We got no sleep the first night as the walls are paper thin. We could hear next door’s television blasting and in the other room next to us, they were having sex. Not unusual pastimes of course, but I didn’t expect to feel as though I was in the room with them... went down for breakfast and were told off for being late because we arrived at 9.10am and we had booked the 9am sitting and the owner wanted to go out! We also didn’t like that we had had to book what we wanted for breakfast when we checked in. The reason we were a bit late was that we both had to have showers due to bring absolutely lathered in the night. It was so hot! No air conditioning available and as the hotel is on a busy main road, we couldn’t have the windows open.
Cognisant that the owner was going out, we asked if we could speak to him once we’d finished breakfast. Nope!: he insisted on speaking to us about the room issues whilst we were eating. Explaining that we had had no sleep and that we had a long drive home and I would be in no fit state to drive after 2 sleepless nights, we asked if we could check out. This was met with a refusal to give us any money back. After much “negotiating” ie him telling us we were making it up (I had recorded the noise on my phone...) and me standing my ground, we eventually got 50% of the Sunday night rate back. As the Saturday when we had stayed and not slept was considerably more than the Sunday rate, we were not happy with this. Alas, there was no budging him and as 2 female friends faced with an angry male, we decided to take it and get out of there. This meant that we paid £154 for a kind night stay.

Stayed 4 nights for an exploration holiday with partner. On the border of the New Forest, easy access to local towns and villages. Staff were really friendly throughout the whole stay. Loads of parking would certainly stay there again.
