Owner description: Sea Kayaking Abel Tasman National Park Kaiteriteri Kayaks has been operating sea kayaking tours in the Abel Tasman National Park for nearly 20 years. With every trip we ensure that: safety is a priority; everyone has a relaxed time in an enjoyable atmosphere, and the beautiful environment is respected. Our trips are about experienced guides and good times, not hard work. For lots of laughs join a trip with the locals! Over 50 kilometres of coastline offers dozens of golden sand beaches to visit, while the many coves and lagoons provide plenty of interesting nooks and crannies to explore. Sea kayaking here also opens up a world of sea and bird life encounters with animals such as penguins, seals and dolphins. So all in all, you’ve got to say, it’s really not a bad spot!

Well organized tour, the Tonga marine reserve area is the best part of the Abel Tasman park to see seals and birds (even a few penguins) and this part we visited by kayak on the first day. You can stay overnight at Anchorage (book the DOC hut yourself well in advance as this gets fully booked quickly, therefore we stayed at the campsite - we could rent tents & materials from kayteriteri kayaks, which they will transport to and from Anchorage so that you don't have to worry about it). Next day was a nice walk back to Apple tree bay - recommend to take the last water shuttle back at 4pm so you can explore the Abel Tasman park a bit more: go to Cleopatra pool (1 hour walk from Anchorage) and dive in the natural water slide! Overall 2 great days - all tour operators charge quite a lot and kayteriteri kayaks seemed to be best priced. Recommended!

Great trip for us with our two 7 year old boys. Kiran was a fun, easy going and friendly guide, thanks!

What an amazing country we have. This tour gave me the best of both worlds. A two hour tramp through our native forest (alive with bird song) and a guided kayak tour of the coastline. Kira was a great tour guide. Many thanks for the great day.

We did the split Apple trip and loved it, the guide was great and had a great sence of humour, and fitted really well with our family's own sence of houmor. We really recommend giving it a go and hope to be back to do a longer trip.

We booked this up after talking with Amber in the booth on the sea front they day before. Dan our guide was a real top bloke, so knowlegable about the park and it's history he made the day for us. We saw the seal colony and sting rays as well as lots of other wildlife. He found a deserted beach for us to have lunch on too. All in all an excellent day which we found not as tiring as we feared and one of the highlights of our trip to NZ.
