“Truly wonderful experience”

Aitken's Australia in the Round
Reviewed 21 June 2018

This wonderful artistic creation has to be seen to be believed. A beautifully and painstakingly painted panorama of some of Australia's iconic landscapes. In its own way a modern masterpiece that even the Renaissance artists would rate highly. Well worth the $5 admission. An absolute must see.

A friend put us onto this place and, while it was just a little pricey for what it was, we're glad we stopped in, especially since we were travelling with a couple who had been in Australia less than 48 hours.

The overall design/concept was interesting and unique, as were the sound effects. The paintings were well done and blended nicely one to the other, taking you right 'round the country. It could be improved by some small signs on the guard rail to identify the relevant flora/fauna, as they weren't always obvious.

It is unfortunate that you have to go through the cafe to reach the exhibit. We weren't in need of refreshment, which made it a bit uncomfortable.

Well, where to start. This overpriced, sub standard cafe and kitschy gift shop has a half baked "attraction" named the 'World Famous Painted Panorama'. Obviously 'world famous' in the mind of it's owner only, because this thing is actually a back wall painted with a mural that a Year 8 child could have done, and some mangy, dead Australian animals. The killer blow however is that you don't get to see this 'world famous' tourist attraction when you make the mistake of entering the joint and buying the expensive coffee, you actually have to pay extra for the privilege! Thank God I don't have any overseas friends that have visited, because I'd have some explaining to do.

I had friends visiting for the day and I decided to show them the Blue Mountains. I started with a trip to the panorama. It’s surreal and allows you to take a trip around this incredible country. I’ve read where people complain about the entry price and have been underwhelmed but seriously $5 to enter is nothing and my tip to everyone - just relax when inside and look for the incredible detail in each scene. Well done to those who created this. A big thumbs up from me and my guests.

Cost $5 each you only need 5min to see the murals of Australia scenery and lots of stuffed animals and birds

Go to the zoo or up to Katoomba it would be a much more enjoyable day

Don’t bother going it very poor value
