I took my family to the Fleet Air Arm Museum during the Christmas holidays. We all had a great time. The quality of the displays for first rate and there was plenty to see.
The staff were very friendly and helpful
Highly Recommended
Very interesting place they have quiet a lot to see and also touch if your into helicopters then l would recommend you visit. The flight simulator is good fun. There are also planes to see With a viewing platform to see the whole area. You can also see planes and helicopters coming and going from the airbase next door. As others have said the café in not operating which is a shame Would be nice to watch out on the field with a drink and a meal. Overall good value for money. Certainly worth a visit. You can also buy souvenirs.
The Fleet Air Arm Museum was very interesting especially if you have an interest in aviation. There was a great display of helicopters and naval planes as well as historical displays. The helicopter flight simulator would appeal to kids and parents. Well worth a visit, but be aware there was no cafe just vending machines.
World class presentation, great range of aircraft and related artifacts. A few hands on experiences such as the flight simulator.
The cafe was a host of vending machines but im assuming the actual kitchen opens on certain days and times, it does have a commanding view of the airfield.
If interested in flying machines of the past and Australian naval air history this would be an interesting way to spend an hour or two. It's well presented and maintained with plenty of sitting spots for tired legs. There are a number of old planes and helicopters to see, along with models of ships, art exhibition and sundry memorabilia. Entry is $10 and children being free is great for families. Kids just loved the simulator.
Pity the restaurant is closed with only a couple of poorly stocked vending machines in operation.
What a great place to visit to see all the planes of the past. So Much to see and do. There is also a great place to have lunch here overlooking the air field. Top Place
