“Beautiful, immaculate gite in a tranquil location with views of Pyrenees”
Reviewed 1 September 2013 for a stay in August 2013

My husband and our 7 month old baby spent a very relaxing week at Micalon. The gite itself is beautiful being a barn conversion and has a lot of character but with all the mod cons necessary. After 3 weeks in France staying in varying accommodation, it was such a pleasure to have comfortable beds (blackout blinds were also a godsend for the baby!) and a modern bathroom and kitchen and two spacious living areas.
It is a great base to visit the Pyrenees and even pop over to Spain if you feel like stocking up on cheap alcohol and ham. The Samatan market on Mondays is huge and worth a visit as is the Table d'Olivier restaurant in Samatan which has delicious food at reasonable prices. The views of the surrounding countryside are beautiful and it is such a great little place to just relax and do not very much if that is what you feel like.
The owners (Nynke and Hans) are on hand if you need them but very discreet at the same time. They were such wonderful hosts to us and we were lucky enough to be there during the vegetable patch harvest time so we enjoyed freshly picked local produce without moving a muscle.
Highly recommend this gite. You won't be disappointed.
