“Fantastic hospitality and generosity in Galicia”

We spent a wonderful week in this lovely cottage in the Galician countryside. Miguel and Jenne were great hosts, greeting us upon our arrival, helping us get to know the local area and providing numerous useful recommendations.
The house was charming and the garden was a delight (it's a shame that we couldn't have spent more time sitting outside amongst the apple trees!).
The surrounding landscape was beautiful with spectacular hills, streams and woods, while the local beach (a pleasant 30 minute walk away) was excellent and virtually deserted!

Particular highlights...Sunday market in Noia, chocolate con churros sitting outside a cafe in Porto do Son, lunch (twice) in Horreo, eating octopus in a tiny restaurant in Santiago whilst sheltering from the rain, the children burying themselves up to their waists in the sand on the beach.

When a family manages to get as much out of their holiday as you did, it really is gratifying, especially when there are teenagers involved.
By making use of both car and foot, you certainly explored the local area as well as getting to enjoy a selection of the good food on offer in Galicia. We're happy that we could help towards your enjoyment through our local knowledge, although you did find the "chocolate y churros" without our help!
It's also very rewarding when guests appreciate the charm of the cottage and its gardens and in our turn we appreciate the care you took of the property. Many thanks - and we trust we'll see you this way again.

“Exceptional rural retreat in anb exceptional area”

My wife and I stayed here at the end of July for a week....wish we'd stayed longer! The property is certainly a cut above, and very attractive, yet comfortable, with a lovely garden. The hosts, Michael and Jennie, are extremely helpful and welcoming without being intrusive.....in fact, they can't do enough for you and really helped to make this a holiday to remember.
there are lots of things to see in the area to satisfy most tastes; great and varied beaches, historic towns and places of interest, great food and restaurants of an unfussy and authentic nature. Scenery is 'to die for' and the local town, Porto do Son, was just what we wanted; Not very touristy in comparison to the rest of the Rias, all amenities, great bakers on the main road, lovely little market (don't miss the little fish market with people selling excess fruit and veg too...open all the time as far as we could tell) and great reataurants.....we loved the Horreo and went twice but several to choose from. The Horreo does a favulous set menu with pork and veal ribs (cooked over the fire behind the bar) and/or lovely squid, 'a la plancha,....order both and share! The Albarino is exceptionally good value at 7 Euros but thrown in free with set menu! You have to pay for your own water though!
I would certainly recommend this property as well as the area as a whole.....great walking possible too but that would need a little more investigation on our part next time! We will be back!

The magic of Galicia certainly rubbed off on you and it was wonderful to see how much you appreciated the Rias Baixas and the cottage. Your photographs of the area were excellent. You were really great guests and if we helped you to enjoy your holiday to the fullest, then that was our pleasure. We look forward to your return to show you more of Galicia's treasures.

“A lovely stay in an old cottage in peaceful surroundings in a beautiful part of Spain”

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Porto do Son. The area is beautiful with wonderful small bays and sandy beaches, green countryside and the magical old city of Santiago de Compostella less than an hour away.

Our hosts, Miguel and Jenne, could not have been more helpful. They are keen to share their love of this corner of Spain and were full of information about the area and helpful pointers to inexpensive and authentic local restaurants.

It was lovely to have such a peaceful base to return to each day. We were blessed with good weather and spend happy hours on the terrace watching the light changing on the hills and admiring the flowers in the well tended garden.

“Lovely cottage in a beautiful, peaceful setting”

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this lovely cottage. Miguel and Jenne went out of their way to make us welcome and nothing was too much trouble for them. The cottage is very comfortable and has modern facilities whilst retaining its authenticity with beautiful beams, wooden floors and exposed stonework. The surrounding area is stunning as are the nearby beaches which were virtually empty. We also spent time in the garden and were delighted that the light evenings meant we could sunbathe until after 9 pm. We recommend the cottage as the ideal location for those looking for a peaceful, scenic holiday with the comforts of home.

Thanks so much for a wonderful stay. The cottage was spacious, clean and comfortable with a lovely garden. Our hosts Michael and Jenne were welcoming, hospitable and always available to deal with any queries or offer advice on the surrounding area. This part of Galicia has loads of amazing beaches, great countryside and interesting places to visit - we could have done with longer than a week!

Thank you for your kind remarks. It was a pleasure to have you stay in the cottage; you looked after the place so well and left it so clean - thank you. We are very pleased that you had such a good time here; there is so much to see and do in this part of the scenic Rias Baixas and we're glad that with our local knowledge, we could help you to enjoy the area to the full. It was a pity you could only stay for a week this time, but we look forward to seeing you again when you'll have the chance to catch up on even more of the sights. Our best wishes to you both.
