My boyfriend and I visited this show as a Groupon purchase. Upon arrival, we were given a lanyard with our table number and we made our way into the bar area. The bar was very busy with other guests but we were served very efficiently and managed to get seats in a booth. I loved how the walls were decorated with costumes and the whole area was glitzy and fun.
The biggest problem in the bar is that there are only two toilets; one female and one male. Considering the number of females was approx. 95% of the crowd, there was quite a bit of queuing.
When our table number was called, we made our way into the “powder room” with other guests and were given the house rules by one of the performers. The room was very pink and cosy and a nice gateway to the main area. We were then lead to our table. We were seated furthest from the stage but closest to the bar; this didn’t affect our view at all.
As part of the show, you receive a three-course meal. The first course is soup, which is served alternatively so one person receives chicken broth and the other vegetable soup. I had the vegetable but didn’t like it as it tasted a bit powdery. However, my boyfriend enjoyed the chicken broth. We both then had pre-selected the steak, served with mashed potato and vegetables, which was very edible. Dessert was alternated between fruit salad, sticky toffee pudding and chocolate brownie. Small servings but very tasty.
The show is split into two parts and is a series of different performers, solos and groups, miming and dancing to famous songs. The whole audience loved it; clapping and cheering.
There are more toilets available upstairs so there was no queueing during the show and you were served promptly at the bar.
Once the show was over, you were welcome to stay in the bar section until the early hours. The performers are around and happy to pose for photographs and you can have a professional shot taken with all of them. They also do smaller performances in the bar and encourage audience participation.
Overall, it was a great night and I recommend to anyone looking for a dinner show that’s a little bit different and covered in glitter.
