Excellent lodge and facilities. Heated pool & hot tub class! Ideal for family reunion and plenty for adults and kids.
Our party of 8 adults and one child had an amazing short break at Hafod Lodge. The lodge is spacious with everything you could possibly need.
We loved the pool and hot tub and made good use of both due to the lovely weather. The garden is a lovely sun trap.
The lodge is in a great location, a short stroll to the local vineyard and a 20 minute drive to Cardiff. We used the minibus recommended by the very helpful Mary to take us to the city- very good service.
We highly recommend Hafod Lodge and hope to return one day.
We had a fantastic weekend away at Hafod Lodge in Hensol. The house is lovely with everything we needed and the added bonus of a hot tub and outdoor heated swimming pool which we could use even in early March!
The house is in a beautiful location which is easily accessed from central Cardiff in about 20 minutes.
We would love to go back and stay again.
Well what can we say....what an amazing lodge!! We had a big family christmas and stayed at Hafod Lodge from 22nd to 27th Dec, and we had a Fabulous time. The owner Mary met us on arrival and she was really friendly and helpful going through everything we needed to know. It's a beautiful lodge and was decorated lovely for christmas with a beautiful big tree in the conservatory area. It's very well equipped, clean and there's loads of space if you just fancy a little quiet time. The hot tub is obviously one of the biggest bonuses of the lodge especially on christmas morning drinking processco....pure bliss!! The pool to our suprise was warm enough to use and the kids spent loads of time swimming outdoors in Dec!! (We would recommend bringing your own beach towels for the pool/hot tub) There is a large shopping complex with a tesco extra and aldi approx 10 minutes away which was perfect for doing our food shopping, (as we had so much to travel with for christmas we really didn't want to have to take shopping too!) Cardiff is approx 30 minutes away and we spent a lovely afternoon/evening there on the 23rd. There are some beautiful local walks around the lodge which got the kids out and adventuring. Our only negative point would be that in the main house there is only two toilets (there is a third toilet in the bunk house) and for 15 people this could sometimes lead to a challenging queue!
We would highly recommend the lodge and would definitely consider booking again many many thanks.
We had a fantastic stay at Hafod Lodge in December. We were a group of 17 mixed age women who thoroughly enjoyed the facilities and grounds. The kitchen/diner turned out to be the main hub of the house where we spent most of our time. However, it was a little further out from Cardiff than we thought so taxis were more expensive than expected.
