Today we experienced a beautiful lunch in this quaint and quiet pub, this was recommended to us by some friends who go here on a regular basis. We went at lunchtime on a Saturday, we were one of very few guests but don't let this scare you. The food is beautiful, very homey and came out fresh from the kitchen, none of this reheating nonsense. The service was great and the young girl was friendly and attentive. It was all reasonably price and what you got was more than enough for us. We got to spend a lovely afternoon enjoying great food and drink, whilst finding a lovely pub, we will definitely be back and be taking our parents along for a meal soon.

Visited the New Inn today for lunch before visiting Perry's Cider farm in Dowlish Wake. We were the first there so there wasn't much of an atmosphere and even when others arrived there was not much of a buzz. However, there was plenty of choice on the menu which was much better than 'standard' pub food (burger, scampi, and so on) and they also have daily specials on chalk boards. Mains on offer included Sea Bass, Pork cooked in local (Perry's) cider and Crab cakes. Two of our party went for the fish pie (clearly home-made and lovely and hot) and I had the Beef Madras from the daily special board (delicious and spicily hot). All was very tasty and the portions were generous (so much so we did not have room for a pud). All-in-all we had a lovely lunch, reasonably priced and, considering this was freshly cooked, we did not have to wait too long. Certainly worth a visit.

Room tip: Sorry we did not stay there, just went for lunch.

I have fond memories of this pub. I went back for dinner for the first time in years. It was good to go back. This is is a delightful little country pub in a beautiful village. I have eaten in a number of the village pubs in this area - this is one of the better ones. The food is standard pub fare but the quality is high. The staff are friendly. Strongly recommended.

I had a meal here with family members who live in the area. The Village is very pretty and the pub is quaint and very cosy....a good place to go for a drink. However, the food was very average, pub fare. Good sized portions but, in my opinion, overcooked and the dishes that I had, in my opinion, were not home made. So if you want a lovely spot, by the fire, for a drink, definitely go to this pub.

Good food. Friendly staff. The room was nice and was situated in the gardens. The prices were very reasonable. The pub itself had a good range of drinks. The pub is well situated in a quiet area but close to places of interest. Be sure you know where you are going if you are not familiar with the country lanes getting to the pub.
