This 3* hotel is very close to the Basilica of San Michele. It offers a solid quality for a reasonable price. Rooms are standard but quiet and offer a stunning into the open land. We took half-pension (dinner) as it sounded convenient but quality “could be improved”. Next time we will definitely prefer to go to some of the restaurants in the “new” town, some 10 to 15 minutes away from the hotel.

The hotel is run by St Michael Archangel Sanctuary and it had that special feel to it. Rather mysterious really as you descend to your room from reception with different points of entry into the adjoining Basilica. Our room faced east and was at the edge of town with lovely views across the countryside and towards monte Sacro (where we walked to the next day!). In the morning and evening there was the gentle clang clang of cow bells from across the valley. Comfortable clean room; very helpful reception. We enjoyed dinner and breakfast in excellent dining room - indeed, breakfast was on sunny terrace with amazing views

The hotel is called 'House of the Pilgrim' and is across the road from Saint Anthony's Basilica so I can't really complain about getting woken up by bells! I was in the Dipendenza which is an annex at the back, about 50metres from reception. The room was spacious but the bed was very small. It was a single bed which is fair enough considering I booked a single room but I am used to hotels only having doubles and therefore am used to having a double bed. Again I can't complain about that. The room was clean and more than adequate, maybe a bit dark as the window was quite small in proportion to the room. The wifi was not the best, you are given a username and password and have to re-enter it quite regularIy but it is free so again cannot complain!. The last hotel I stayed in this region (in Mestre) charged for it. I didn't have breakfast so cannot comment on that. The location is excellent. I have stayed in Padova a few times and this was by far the best located hotel I have stayed in. Less than five minutes walk from Prato della Valle and less than ten minutes walk from the centre. All in all, it's not a luxury hotel but it was very good value (I paid about €36 a night including the tax).
The hotel was a perfect location to reach by car on the winding road, easy access and free parking area via the narrow street behind the main entrance. A very easy walk around town, with a nice view of the surrounding mountains and valley, good for a one night stay. Our room for three was comfortable, up-to-date, and clean. The lobby is large, with beverages available at the counter and a public sitting area. We ate dinner (very basic, limited dinner menu) and continental breakfast; would recommend meals elsewhere for better selection and quality. It was a very quiet, peaceful stay.
