“Perfect retreat”
Reviewed 15 May 2012

We stayed here for two nights while attending a wedding nearby. The three rooms were large and easily accomodated six adults and five children (2 - 11). The staff were very friendly and helpful. We had breakfast on one of the mornings and were made to feel uncomfortable by the waitress who had to check if we had pre-paid - vouchers would have save any embarassment. If in the area in the furure we will stay again.

Room Tip: All seemed to face cricket pitch

A very good hotel for the money, but the breakfasts were rather expensive.
The signs to the hotel are very poor and we had to ring to get directions in order to locate it.

Booked to stay here for 4 nights whilst attending badminton Horse Trial which were cancelled but as we had a 'no cancellation' deal, there was nothing we could do but go anyway. Rooms huge with 6 foot beds, very clean, all overlooking a cricket field, friendly, helpful staff. The best thing was that all the walls were solid and therefore no noise could be heard from other guests. The worst thing was that the extractor fans in the bathrooms are on a timer throughout the building so constantly on until 11pm ish and back on again at some unearthly hour (possibly OK if on business but not when on holiday) in the morning.

Room Tip: All on cricket pitch side of building so no car park noise
