Large car park. Tired decor and furniture. In need of a revamp.

If you’re not a local, don’t expect to get served, even if you have been stood at bar for a few minutes waiting and a local just wanders up, they will get served first!!

The food was awful. It certainly must take some skill in the kitchen to actually prepare some food to make it so flavourless. They totally masked the natural flavours ! This place has Skills!!! How can you make a mixed grill taste so bland?! The egg was like a rubber joke egg. The menu states ‘all meat locally sourced from a Derbyshire butcher ‘ hmmm, I don’t think any butcher would put their name on those sausages!! Apparently it also came with rump, gammon and pork steaks (I knew what was the lamb because of the bone!). Apart from the colour, on a blind taste test you wouldn’t tell the difference!

Partners burger was dry and tasteless.

Onion rings were more like donuts and full of grease.

We left most of our meals even though we were starving and hadn’t eaten all day.

On another note, the men’s toilet could do with a THOROUGH clean.

I would avoid this place!!!

Wow just wow

My husband & I checked Into the local holiday inn. It was a bit pricey to eat and drink so we decided to google search and find somewhere local.

This came up.

It was a very welcoming as we drove up.

On first impressions it was very clean and friendly.

We were greeted as soon as we entered and offered a table.

The menu was very ‘pub grub’ style which suited us perfectly.

2 meals for £10...

Highly recommend the fish & chips.

All staff we spoke to were friendly and approachable.

If we were ever to travel to Derby again we will definitely be going here for food.

Thank you x

Friend and I visited early evening (18:30) with low expectations. Had fish and chips from the 2 for a tenner menu. Both surprised at portion size and quality. Enjoyed so much that we ordered desserts, sticky toffee pudding and chocolate brownie. Again, generous portions, hot and plenty of cream for the pudding and ice cream for the brownie. Staff chatty and friendly. Both said we will deffo visit again.
