Description: Built in 1874 on the site of an old coaching inn. The Buck Inn is set in the centre of the picturesque village of Malham. The landscape is breathtakingly beautiful and quiet, offering you a break from the noisy cosmopolitan life of the big cities. Yet its only a short drive from both Yorkshire and greater Manchester.

We had a lovely evening meal in the empty “restaurant” (it was more like a snug). We didn’t expect much from the lack of other customers but were very pleasantly surprised! Burger was lovely as was the mushroom wellington, would recommend both as they seemed very home made.

Thank Sarah M

hi Sarah

Thanks for your lovely review, however I think you should have put this on Beck Halls review page, they do Mushroom Wellington we don't. Glad you enjoyed your meal anyway!

Steak night! 2 steaks and a bottle of wine. Perfect for Friday night. The steak was cooked just right and the service was prompt. The restaurant was quite busy but everything ticked along nicely.
We had a lovely evening, made even better by being allowed to take our dog in with us too.

Thank Bramley9

It was supposed to be steak night but they had run out of rump so we had to upgrade to sirloin which cost us an extra £20 (£4 each). The sirloin was excellent though and cooked just right for all of us. Rather Spartan decor with tables arranged like a school dining room but a nice open fire. Friendly staff. Good choice of beers. Limited menu but they had also run out of fish cakes.

We stopped at the Listers arms but popped in here for a quick drink.

We were greeted by a lovely man with a warm and friendly welcome. He informed us where the fire was and we had a quiet drink before heading back to the Listers arms over the road.

I had a gin. There was a decent selection of gin to chose from and some nice tonics to go with it. However it’s not the same when your gin served in a gin glass and it comes in a small tumbler with a slice of lemon. Try some orange or grapefruit. These are the missing touches for a five star review.

My husband enjoyed his pint!

Thanks for your warm and friendly welcome.
