Hotel built on site of former monastery with visible remains within the hotel building, including burial site of three nuns. Plenty of free parking if required. Check in nice and easy with friendly receptionists. Lift available to upper floors. Bedrooms nice and spacious, clean with comfortable beds and en-suite. No tea/coffee making facilities though. Pleasant restaurant with some staff friendlier than others. Food in general was good, but not quite four star. Spa and outside pool available.
Hotel is located on edge of Belmonte village. Worth a visit with very friendly people. Nearby, on a hill overlooking the area, is a renovated castle where El Cid movie was filmed. Well worth a visit even just for the views of the surrounding countryside. Also nearby are the windmills mentioned in the novel Don Quixote.
