“Lovely cottage in a lovely location”

I stayed with my teenager and younger son, the cottage is so comfortable and well equipped there was nothing we missed or needed. It is very comfortable, warm and cosy.
The setting is wonderful and really pretty, we walked from the cottage to Whawl through the fields and along the beck and it is lovely. The children were able to play in the river whenever they wanted to and we all loved being greeted by the lambs every day.
Short journey to Reeth for pubs and shops and a great base for exploring.
The owners are really helpful and friendly and always "on hand".
We will definitely be back.

We had a lovely stay at the cottage the facilities were 1st class. The location is great for walks and the scenery is wonderful. Great place to come back to and chill with a glass of wine in front of the log burner. We will definitely like to go back.

“First rate cottage in an Idyllic location.”

We stayed in 1 Swallowholm cottage for 3 nights, myself ,my wife and two friends. The cottage is first class and has been fitted out to a very high and tasteful standard. The bedrooms are of excellent proportions and all the rooms were spotless. many thanks to the owner for the gift of tea, local cheese and biscuits. Parking is excellent and the local pub is a mere ten minutes walk away.

“1 Swallowholm - an exceptional cottage in Arkengarthdale”

We were so impressed with the cottage from start to finish. A nice touch was the welcome pack with some lovely local produce (thanks Julia). The standard of the accommodation is exceptional with two large bedrooms, a comfortable open plan kitchen dining area with a well equipped kitchen area and a wood burning stove. There is superb walking from the doorstep. A good Yorkshire pub nearby which cooks excellent food (The CB). Reeth is 4 miles away - ideal for newspapers and any provisions. For breath-taking scenery and superb accommodation this place takes some beating.

“perfect cottage, location and scenery”

My husband, 12 year old son, our dog and I have just returned from Arkengarthdale after a 4 day break. The cottage was perfect for all our needs. There was plenty of room, the bedrooms very spacious and the kitchen contained everything we needed (I cooked meals every night). Both bathroom and shower room are beautifully decorated. A log burner and under floor heating added that extra special something. The location and scenery are breathtakingly beautiful with fields and hills surrounding the cottage. We definitely will be returning.
