We went in Cherry Blossoms season but this park would be good all year round.
The grounds are huge; there are gardens , shines, a zoo, a lake. It has it all.
A great way to relax in Toyko.

We stayed at a hotel near Ueno park, centurion Hotel Ueno, and the location was perfect. The park is huge and a perfect place to see the cherry blossoms. There are food stands from early morning till late night and boat ride activities to enjoy. Perfect for lovely evening walks and family picnics. During the sherry blossom season you will see people having picnics under the trees enjoying traditional meals and having fun. There is a zoo as well in the park and if you walk towards the museum you will be able to find a hidden Starbucks :D

I really enjoyed walking through Uenokoen. In particular in the evening with groups enjoying each other’s company. Lanterns light the paths and the cherry blossoms were in bloom. A great way to relax.

Both sides of the river, trees smothered in flowers, people on blanket beneath picnicing. Pity the flowers only last for a short time. The best display in Tokyo.

I stumbled on Ueno Park almost by accident and was stunned by the sight of huge lotus flowers filling the pond, with a beautiful pavilion in the background. An unforgettable sight. There is a little viewing platform.
