I stayed here last year and then came back again , based on comfort, convenience, views, attractions nearby and proximity to airport Keisei Skyliner at Ueno. I love running, and found plenty of great morning runs from the hotel- try running down to Ueno park- it's very peaceful. Turn down the street behind the hotel and it takes you all the way to the train overpass and then you cross the tracks and are in the park.
Tarawaramachi subway stop on the Ginza line is the closest subway. Both directions have a small lift at the end of the track. It's much easier with luggage.
Our hotel room had great views of the Sky Tree- there's a viewing room on the 20th floor for those not high up.
There is a largish supermarket right next door on the left of the hotel for basics. Splurge on breakfast up high on one day. It's very delicious and extensive, even serving desserts and ice cream!
The ammenities were replenished every day and our upgraded room had a fabulous bath room seperate to powder area. Complimentary water in our room was appreciated every day.
Sensoji temple and area a very close walk.
No laundry room for you to do your own washing is only downfall. This a big wedding hotel.
The taxi from Ueno to hotel from Keisei was 1400yen and value considering the hour we flew in, with luggage after a long flight. My choice hotel for Tokyo.
Plenty of restaurants near hotel. Enjoy the area.

We stayed for four nights. The location is great with lots of restaurants close by. You can walk to the shrine and the river cruise. Breakfast buffet was great
We walked to the zoo to see the panda.
The staff were lovely. There is a big supermarket right next door. We used the metro and the buses and there is the Skytree shuttle bus to Ueno station
We really enjoyed our stay. The room had three proper beds
It was a bit warm but there was a portable air conditioner. Junko at reception answered all our query's via email mail prior to our trip. We used the bag forwarding service with great success to save lugging our bags around
We will return.

I only got to spend one night in this lovely hotel, which was a pity as it was by far the nicest hotel I stayed in during my trip to Japan. I booked through a web site and so wasn't expecting a 'view' room but my room was on an upper floor with the most amazing view of Tokyo. I pulled back a screen and was able to admire the view from the bath tub. The room was incredibly spacious, well set out and clean, with a wonderful bathroom and selection of amenities to enjoy.

Room Tip: Upper floor, Sky tree facing

Rooms are big enough but their carpets are very very dirty and the covers on the bed as well. I was scared of touching them.
But apart from that everything is good. There is a safe in the room.
Buffet breakfast on the 26th floor was excellent ! And it has a view on sky tree tower. They have both western and Japanese options available . We stayed for three nights and didn't get tired of it.
In the room you will also find a hairdryer, shampoo and hair conditioner but no body lotion.
They have an indoor pool but it's not free of charge .
The location is very good though. Right in the heart of asaksa district 5 min away from the shrine. A lot of good restaurants and local pubs around.
It was a pretty good stay .

Our travel agency arranged this accommodation for us on our first week in Tokyo. The breakfast is better than most of the other places we spent our vacation in in Japan and the view is beautiful from the restaurant as the sun comes up. The location is unbeatable if you're interested in roaming the old city - it's just a short walk from Senso-ji, Nakamise-dori, and the local metro. You can take the short ride on the local metro to the sumo neighbourhood if you're interested. We were provided the basic toiletries in our stay - but this common to most of our hotels in Japan so something to note when packing. The staff were very helpful upon arrival and upon departure when we needed to send our luggage on to the next hotel. The only thing that one might possible dislike is the dated look in the rooms - if at all. It most certainly didn't take away from the comfort of the room and we enjoyed our stay overall.
