My family and I had an excellent stay at the Hotel Metropolitan, Ikebukuro.
Upon arriving in Narita we were pleasantly advised that our JR passes on taking the Narita Express had a stop in Ikebukuro. From the station it's a two-five minute walk to the hotel (depending on how fast you walk). We went through Lumine, the department store and crossed a mall to find our hotel immediately across. We checked in to our double and triple rooms. We found that the double and triple rooms with twin beds (separate) were larger than the double rooms with a double bed. Their website specified the size of the room for each category as well as the bed sizes so check to see what you're getting. The bathroom was nice and clean and supplies were restocked daily.
We requested for a room upgrade for one room and took a bit of time explaining to the front desk officer. It was a bit hard to communicate with them but they tried their best to understand us and vice versa. The staff were all very pleasant, very nice and very courteous. We couldn't have asked for a better hotel. There's Mos burger right in front, a 24 hour convenience store about a hundred meters from the hotel, an Izakaya (local bar where you sit on the floor) and English pub, the mall had a lot of stores as well as a bakery and Starbucks...My family and I had an excellent stay at the Hotel Metropolitan, Ikebukuro.

Ikebukuro is quite a few stops taking the Yamanote line to Shibuya, Ginza and the rest of the tourist places. Quite far but still convenient. We also didnt get to try any of their restaurant outlets as we booked lunch and dinners in local restaurants.More
