This was our first time in Japan and we thought we give a roykan a try. The emails back and forth were very friendly and helpful. The family at Saiko Inn were lovely and very welcoming. We slept comfortable on the futons. We loved Ikebukuro and had one of our best meals in that neighbourhood. Connecting to the rest of the city was easy with the metro. Most memorable was our evening spent with the family and friends of Saiko Inn sharing a family dinner. Very special.

We stayed here with our film crew for a children's television show we were working on, and the Family Inn Saiko went above and beyond to help us out. We were fully supplied with maps and cards to give cab drivers to get back to the hotel, the family was AMAZING to work with and they answered all of our many questions via e-mail before we even arrived, which if you are traveling with a large crew- you'll know is important!

It was great arriving, knowing that we had an established relationship with the Family Inn Saiko and we were treated to a wonderful warm welcome, with delightful cups of tea!

The rooms were great. Our whole film crew took up a whole floor, and even though the rooms are small they are very cozy. We couldn't hear each other in our rooms, so there were no noise problems in the hotel. It's all very nice and new, and the futons were very comfortable and a unique experience for our North American film crew.

The best part of the rooms were the bathrooms! They are very spacious and clean.

You will definitely enjoy the Family Inn Saiko. Do remember to bring an ethernet cable though if you'd like internet- otherwise you can use the WiFi on the main floor.

Have fun!

We found the family run Inn a great place to stay whilst in Tokyo. A seven minute walk to the subway, and one stop further and you are on the JR Yamanote line at Ikebukuro, so pretty close. The shops close to the Inn were a pleasant change from the hustle of the city, as it felt like we were experiencing true suburban Tokyo life. The staff were exceptional, and were always there to greet us in the morning and evening, and answer any questions we had. They checked train lines for us, offered suggestions for our daily trip, and generally made us feel very welcome in their establishment. Internet is provided, along with a simple breakfast, an ofuro, washing machine, fridge and vending machine all to use at your leisure at no extra cost. Of course if you want to improve your language, feel free to converse in Japanese, however this family manages very well with their use of English. The rooms were comfortable and clean, and the airconditioner / heater meant that our rooms were nice and cosy on our return from the day's travel. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and thank our hosts for their wonderful hospitality.

We are family with 2 teenager, stayed 2 days in Family Saiko inn. This is really a wonderful place, a walking distance from the station. and really a place where you can feel the real Japanese home. Our daughters were so happy tried the Yukata, and on the new year day, They gave us the newyear envelope. We called it as "angpao" in China.
If we can visit Tokyo again, sure we want to stay there. Thanks to Nicholas and Betty for the lovely day we had in your hotel.
