Tokyo International Airport (Haneda) Terminal No2 Observation Deck
Ranked #1 of 187 things to do in Ota
Certificate of Excellence
Reviewed 6 April 2018

It was efficient, busy and very big, but staff everywhere took pride in their airport. It was clean, tidy and well set out. Coffee shops on the departure side were very few and far between if you had a bit of a wait, so I recommend getting your coffee before you go through customs and immigration.

This airport was large and modern. Plenty of shops clothes accessories and places to eat. The prices were reasonable.

Never knew Haneda is so easy & convenient to access from Tokyo Int’nal Airport as were quite tired after a bumpy flight from Changi Singapore. Though a very busy & crowded, the airport systems made the traffic flow so orderly & non chaotic unlike many airports in ASEAN & other continents except for Changi & Orlando. Very proud of so many good restaurants & eateries in Haneda. To all the airport & restaurant staff, aligato for making our transit a pleasant, memorable & relaxing haven.

If you have the opportunity to fly into or out of Haneda, do so. Narita is much farther from the city center and more difficult to access because of traffic. The international terminal at Haneda is worth a few hours to experience - buy your souvenirs here before you leave. The food choices are phenomenal and not inflated for being an airport. Architecturally the terminal is beautiful to wander through including walking the Haneda Nihonbashi. The outside flight deck allows you a chance to see plane coming in and out of Haneda- an aviation photographer's dream- gawk at the beautiful "glass" (lenses) of these semi pro photographers that flock there to capture the planes. On a clear day you can see Mt Fuji as well. The shopping is phenomenal too. When you are done and ready for your long flight or just landed from a long flight , you can shower up on the second floor in luxurious baths that rent for a half hour (1200Y)- they provided Shiseido bath products and everything you need to freshen up plus a drink coupon for after.

Observation deck at terminal 2 of Haneda Airport offers great views of the airport areas with the evening time providing a great view of Mount Fuji.
The runway approach is right in front of observation deck and hence flights to be seen landing every few minutes. Also, the skylines of Yokohama are visible which adds another dimension to the great views from the observation deck.
There are levels of observation point. The first one is covered with shades. The second one is the larger one accessible by staircase. Both decks have ample seating arrangement, vending machines as well as toilets.
Great place to spend an evening.
