I went in here to go to Daily Chico, a famous soft serve ice cream place in Japan. It was really good. In fact, it was the best ice cream I've ever had. They are famous for their supersize, which is an ice cream with all their flavors on it. My favorite flavor was the Ramune flavor. Ramune is a Japanese soda type. Ramune ice cream is only in Japan. The Matcha Flavor is also only in Japan. Matcha is Japanese Green Tea. I ate it all. And if people are worried about Daily Chico being pricey, the supersize was about a foot long, and was around 4-6 USD. (400-600 yen, I forgot exact price). If you are planning to order the supersize or anything at Daily Chico, and don't like to lick your ice cream, they have spoons. And if you are scared of the ice cream falling over, it didn't for me, the ice cream is really straight and satisfying to look at.

My brother and I visited Nakano Broadway one evening after being told about it by some friends. Having both visited Electric Town in Akihabara a few times we agreed Nakano is similar, with its numerous anime and gaming stores including Mandarake.

Most items were also a bit cheaper than in Electric Town. There are also plenty of great places to eat, and the atmosphere during the evening was great.

If you've visited Electric Town and want a similar experience at a slightly slower pace then definately set aside a few hourd to explore Nakano Broadway.

I heard about this place & thought I had to check it out.
I'm glad I did. This place has everything for sale.
A great variety of collectibles of all types, electronics, food, & fashion.

If you really feel up to it. Go to the lower level B1 & try out some ice cream.
This food place has hot food but also has a great variety of flavors of soft ice cream.
Even a seven tier soft ice cream, if you're up for the challenge. ;)
I did the seven & it was only $5.00. It's a lot of ice cream & you have to eat it fast, because it'll start melting on you. Manage to do it without a brain freeze, but it was soooo good.

The atmosphere at this place was very cool & it was just an all around cool experience.
I enjoyed it very much.

Firstly, as a huge fans of Ultraman/ Karman rider figurines and gachas I would highly recommend here over Akihabara.
Felt more "organized" in a way or rather since the shops are inside few stories mall and can be properly accessed one by one in a day. Unlike Akihabara you really have to do some research to hunt for particular shops and deal with the crowds whom are just there to see maids or take photos.
For Manga Fans too, Mandarake here is heaven.
In terms of price, yes some items are cheaper than those in Akiba, however not all of them so take note and may need some homework if you're really hunting for best price.
The best part is there are so many nice, cosy resturants and food in the backstreets besides just electronics/ manga or toys

Nakano Broadway is a wonderful destination for toy collectors. Akihabara is definitely flashy and geared heavily towards otaku as well, but I feel this place is better for toy collectors than Akihabara.

Right off the train station, there are a line of stores and restaurants. At the end is the building where most of the toy shops are. The first floor doesn't have much, but the second, third, and part of the fourth are full of toy shops. There are some new things, but a lot of the goods for sale are older or vintage. I found some out of production toys that I have been looking for here. Even some western toys can be found here, although I was looking for Kamen Rider and Super Sentai toys and collectibles. I did not leave disappointed.

For those who buy a lot of toys, Mandarake is a familiar name - they have many stores inside that organize the toys into different interests. You can even see them packing up orders at the tax refund counter.

A much quieter experience than Akihabara, with a lot of selection. I liked that everything is in one building, instead of running store to store in Akihabara. I don't read manga or watch much anime, but the selection for that is not very extensive here. It's very much just toys and collectibles. No adult stores, maid cafes, or anything like that, but for someone who is just looking for toys, this place is heaven.
