“The Best Grand Hyatt”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 11 April 2012

As the Grand Hyatt, I must say this is the best hotel through my experience. The room is spacious enough for Tokyo and design is very modern but not too funky. In the bath room, you
gonn'a feel a bit too much with the function, but it is so comfortable once you figured out. I love their all day dinning place, French Kitchen, food is great and seat layout is very efficient. And Spa&pool is another facility you much check. Whole spa area is very well designed so that you can release yourself thoroughly. As many of viewer mentioned, the access is superb. Direct Access to Shopping mall. In these days, some urban hotels have direct access like Four Seasons hotel in Hong Kong, but this connection is much more comfortable. There is not any automatic door between hotel area and shopping mall.

Grand Hyatt's in Asia, never cease to amaze me (the ones in the U.S. are pretty good too), but international is a whole different ball game. I was fortuate enough to stay here on a business trip and was thourougly impressed. The rooms are great looking with modern features, well thought out. The showers are AMAZING with 4 or 5 shower heads. Toilet I couldn't figure out because the buttons were in Japanese. But fun nonetheless to have buttons. The hotel has great art throughout making it seem more like a boutique hotel rather than the large meeting hotel it is. They also have a nice collection of restaurants with various cuisines. I thought the breakfast buffet was extensive, and should suit almost everyone. One of the best features of this hotel is that it is next door to this gigantic mall with great shopping, great restaurants (so many different types of Japanese ones to try), a museum, and a movie theater. It is a great way to avoid the expensive taxi's. It's very convenient for conference attendees to have that and not worry so much about language barriers. Great hotel, great location.

Stayed here for one night in February. The entrance seems a little secluded and the check-in was quite slow. From then on, it was very good as expected of the GH. The room is clean, modern and reasonably spacious (for tokyo). Bathroom is very new and funky, and the bathroom amenities smell great. The hotel is also next to a shopping centre and several restaurants, making it easy to duck out for a dinner. One thing to note is that many restaurants close early (~9pm).

Not wanting to sound like a complete snob, but when I am in Tokyo, I usually stay at the Park Hyatt. With its zen-like atmosphere the Park Hyatt is one of my favorite hotels in the world. However, on this last trip I stayed at the Grand Hyatt and I have to say that I thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The service is on par with the best you will find in any hotel anywhere and that includes the Park Hyatt! Everyone from the front desk, through the concierge to the room service staff had the same quiet, efficient and welcoming manner that I enjoy at the Park Hyatt yet somehow a little more relaxed. The choice of restaurants is excellent and the room service for breakfast was fast, efficient and plentiful. The corner room was immaculate, very well appointed with excellent amenities, fast wi-fi and a very comfortable bed. The location in Roppongi Hills also provides for easy access to restaurants and has a little more energy than Shinjuku. Although the Park Hyatt is still at the top of my list, the Grand Hyatt is a very, very close second.

Room Tip: Get a corner room. Large and very well appointed.
