Sheraton Miyako Hotel Tokyo

I stayed here for business during my recent trip to Tokyo.
The hotel is located in a nice area (Shirokanedai) and the subway stop (of the same name) is approximately 5 min walk. The closest JR station is Meguro Yamanote line which is about 20 min walk (uphill). In the evening, it can be a nice stroll back to hotel.
The hotel itself is big with a nice beautiful lobby facing its garden (unusual for Tokyo).
As a platinum member, I was upgraded to a renovated room (but not a suite) with free wifi and free breakfast. The room is good size for Tokyo, but the amenities are just standard. Nothing bad but nothing exciting. The breakfast spread is so so, decent selection but nothing fancy like one would expect from a 5 star hotel elsewhere in Asia.
I did use the gym (but not the pool) and I believe the gym was open to residents around the area. Selection is decent, but you do have to change your shoes to rental socks/shoes to work out (unusual for a Western style hotel, i find).
Overall, for the same price, you won't find similar hotel in more central area such as Shinjuku with similar size room. If you can find a good price for this hotel, then it is not a bad option.

I really enjoyed this wonderful hotel .It is a great bargin in a city that hotels of this caliber can run 3 to $400 a night . Very confortable and quiet . A shuttle bus runs from Megaro to the Hotel about every 20 minuets .They serve a wonderful buffet breakfast every morning .
There is a beautiful Japanese garden connected to the hotel . A pool and gym are also avaiable ..
Who can ask for more .Not far from the hotel is a wonderful tonkatsu resturant called Tonki .
The best in Tokyo ! I think it's a gem .

Room Tip: Try to get a room on the SPG floor .. also spend a little extra for a king bed .

This is a wonderful hotel with a beautiful Japanese Garden. Their breakfast is the one of the best I had around the world. Bedding is of course very comfortable being Sheraton group. Location is in a more residential quiet area and subway is not that close, but don't worry, they run complimentary shuttle bus to the closest subway station which is Shirogane-dai, and also to JR station, Meguro. There are a lot of places to eat around Meguro Station and this is a very useful station being Yamate-line. The rooms are good size and very comfortable. Hope they were not as expensive as they were since weak dollar doesn't stretch too much!

After staying here on 3 separate occasions, I decided to write a review about this hotel.
The hotel is placed very close to the Tokyo Metro "Shirokanedai station" which is the biggest plus point because traveling around Tokyo in a Taxi is extremely expensive.
The hotel has very good rooms, especially the ones on the SPG floor. The lighting is excellent, the room also has a radio & CD player to listen to some soothing music. The TV plays HD channels which is a delight to watch. The beds are extremely comfortable & there's a variety of pillows to choose from. There is a very beautiful lounge bar (although slightly overpriced) The hotel staff are very polite, friendly & provide excellent service to the guests.
The hotel has Limo service to get to Narita & Haneda airports & also have a FREE shuttle bus service to the nearest major railway station "Shinagawa" which would otherwise cost 980 JPY (12 USD) There are plenty of restaurants around the hotel (Japanese, Italian, Chinese etc..
The only complaint I have is about the cost which is slightly on the higher side (but this is quite normal in Japan). I wished they provided atleast breakfast for the money we pay for the room.
Overall, I'm very happy with this hotel and recommend this.

Since my trip last year, the hotel has not changed much, was built in 1979 and cannot hide its age, in particular the bathroom is pathetic... That said, it still is conveniently located, although one needs taxi of shuttle for restaurants/supermarkets as there's really nothing nearby. Only real point I want to emphasize this time is the concierge service... in many hotels I stayed at, they can't do much beyond booking taxis (that is, when there is someone at the counter!)... here they are well staffed (not uncommon to see 2-3 staff there, esp. on week-ends), very knowledgeable and they have loads of brochures and documentations to give away.
