Great for a morning walk wherein shops are not yet fully opened. This is the way I love it on a Saturday morning at the one of the most expensive commercial property in the world.

Ginza was a bit meh to us who has Bond Street at our doorstep. However I did enjoy the Sony show store, as they had Gran Turismo goggle play area and all sorts of new gadgets which hasn't arrived in London yet.

We spent around an hour here and was worth the time to walk around and try out some of the gadgets. V impressed with the 3D camcorder.

Free entry and English speaking staff to assist with tax free purchase.

THis has got to be one of the best shopping centres in the world! There was no downsides to our stay in Ginza and we found some great restaurants as well.

big shopping area which was not what I went to Tokyo for since everything is expensive anyway. nice to walk though, but a bit more boring if you don't plan on buying anything. nice enough that I felt safe just strolling though.

I really enjoyed visiting the famous department stores of Ginza. We didn't do much actual shopping (much of it's pretty high-end around here!), but the browsing was excellent! I highly recommend visiting the Food Halls (usually found in the basement level), where you can see the most beautifully presented food you've ever seen, taste some samples and grab a delectable snack! Unfortunately not many of them actually have seating areas. Also, check out the store guides, and go to the floor selling homewares, 'gifts' and kimono - these three are usually grouped together, and it was a great insight into what people have in their homes, typical wedding gifts, traditional products such as ceramics and woodware (these items are set out as if on display in an art gallery - amazing!) and kimono and other traditional products. Even my partner enjoyed it (particularly the amazing Japanese kitchen knives). Some of the department stores have been in operation since the 1600s, and their level of service is out of this world!
