The Budokhan is located in a historic area surrounded by a large garden, easily accessible by Tokyo metro, concert started at 5 we hoped to get drinks and snacks outside before the concert but few options, once inside the venue only machines. We had seats almost in the back but the view was still quite ok, probably not a bad seat in the house, music quality was fantastic, and didn't leave deaf. Exit was challenging as there is only one way out to the street and a few bottlenecks along the way, need to be prepared to deal with large crowds and be patient.

Returning to the ledgendary Nippon Budokan to seek out the ghosts of great stars who had preformed there, we were a little disappointed that there was no exhibit of the greats prefermances this place had delivered. The building was there and the park in which it lays, but that was it. This could easily be an idea for an expanded, new venue if only somebody realized the possibilities.

流石は、日本武道館。歴史を感じる造りです。
ライブ会場としては程よい広さ。
とても良い雰囲気でした。 土地勘の無い人はタクシーがお勧めです。
As expected, the Nippon Budokan. It is made to feel the history.
Reasonable size is as a live venue.
It was a very good atmosphere. People without a land intuition taxi is recommended.

This Hall is actually not only for Japanese judo only, but well known as a place for concerts and other events. In November, Japan Self Defense Forces Marching Festivals are held here. It's hard for tourists to go to this marching festival, for you need to make an application to see the festival. Well, you may have a chance to see this festival if you have some aquaintance of Japanese residents, but anyway, this place is actually one of the north parts of the Emperor's Residence (this area is known as a North Citadel Park) so it's very refreshing just to walk around this area. Lots of trees and traditional gates; worth walking around. It's very easy to access from Tokyo Metro Kudanshita station.

The entire venue is like an extension of the Imperial Palace grounds, and this becomes clear when going through the main entrance which looks similar to the Otemon or Hirakawa gates of the Palace's East Gardens. Watching a concert in a circular venue intended for martial arts/combat sports such as kendo, UFC and the like is an interesting experience and a definite must-try.
