Overlooking the Marunouchi distract, the stunning Palace Gardens and a stroll from Tokyo's exciting Ginza, The Palace Hotel is a subtle blend of Japanese luxury and modern convenience, the staff are überattentive without ever being under-foot.
The porters read our names from our baggage tags so quickly that we were greeted by name before we had exited our cab. We were swiftly direct to the executive lounge on the 19th floor while front desk staff checked us in remotely.
Our 21st floor room was superlatively appointed, fittings of the highest quality, a solid slatted king-size bed and a view overlooking the Royal Palace and gardens.
The GREATEST disappointment was that we only had two nights at The Palace, it was my first stay at the hotel - my travel companions second - we were both wowed.
HINT: the arcade beneath the hotel is well worth a visit, the artisan shops will help peel away the contents of your purse, such beautiful items on offer.
My only complaint was that both times we ordered room service, the fare arrived less than steaming hot.
