No English menu but trust the kind waitress and get the well served 8 courses. Accompanied by several tasty soups a good variety of Japanese food. You can choose either to sit in the Japanese style or at a normal table. Good price quality ratio.

This is a high-end Izakaya nearby Tokyo Station, conveniently located within a walking distance from JR Tokyo and Subway Yurakucho/Nijubashi Stations. I had a dinner business at their beautifully decorated private room for 6 people. Great Japanese traditional foods at a very nice and comfortable ambient.

Izakayas are traditional Japanese pubs or taverns and Yanmo is more on the fancy side. It is located in the classy Marunouchi district, in the basement level of the Shin-Tokyo bldg near the Tokyo International Forum. Use the Yarakucho subway station. At Yanmo you can choose to either remove your shoes, sit on tatami mats and dine on low tables or sit at a "normal" table. Also, rather than a service/tipping fee, you'll pay a seat/table charge which includes Otōshi, a snack or amuse-bouche. The menu is only in Japanese and changes everyday. On the right side of the menu is a set menu with 9 small courses (like a kaiseki) for a set price. There is also a 7 small courses version too. On the left side of the menu is à la carte. The red items are seasonal specialties. So if you do not know Japanese go with the set menu on the right or the dishes in red on the left. The food was excellent, we got: sashimi, yakitori (grilled over coal, see "ogatan"), tempura, omelette w/ eel... I highly recommend Yanmo even if you do not speak Japanese. The food is divine. A colleague brought me here for dinner last week. He had wanted to take me to the omatesando outlet but it is full so we came here. There are so many courses that I can't remember what I ate. But I definitely enjoyed my Neal. No foreigners here only locals. I was the odd one out. i am not new to keiseki, but I must see the dishes are quite unusual.
