The first thing you notice when you arrive is how clean and well maintained the site is. There are seven cottages, from the 12 bed farmhouse, to the 2 bed hayloft, and a modest fully appointed touring caravan park in a seperate area. The Cottage we booked ( The Pines), sleeps six, and is very well presented. The decor is perfect, and the central and underfloor heating help with those chilly mornings. The kitchen is fully appointed, with all mod cons, and all sorts of extras you don't usually get. The main room has a large TV with freeview and an Ipod/ Iphone docking station. The bathroom contains a separate bath, a lovely shower, backlit mirror and toilet. Bedroom one is large, and has a dresser, double wardrobe, and the worlds comfiest king-sized bed. Bedroom two has the same, but also has an en-suite. Bedroom three has two single beds of the same comfy quality and storage. The private garden is large, with an included barbeque, outdoor table and large folding parasol. On the grounds ( 25 acres), are walks, picnic benches and an exclusive fishing lake. Fishing tackle can be cheaply hired, as can bikes for country lane jaunts. There is a water spa on site, which can be booked for free.
My partner flies Electric RC aeroplanes, and brought some to fly at Sutton on sea. The owners were very obliging, and allowed him to fly in the fields, which was very much appreciated, and made for a very happy chappy ( as well as the spectators, who liked the impromptu air shows).
So.. Warm, welcoming, helpful, obliging, beautiful, peaceful, relaxing, quiet. We are going back.
All told 10/10
Just got back from Jockedge. Beautiful cottages in a lovely raural village. Very friendly welcome. Very clean and well decorated thoughout.compfy beds. Use of a lovely hot tub. Definitely recommend
Hired the cottage for New Year with 2 other couples. It is a lovely cottage which is tastefully decorated and was very well equipped. If you wanted to use the hot tub, you only needed to ask at the reception. It was nice as they provided us with dressing gowns.
It is in a good location, with a nice 10 minutes walk to the village. There are 5 real ale pubs, which all do food. There is a Post Office, butchers and 2 convenience stores which is very handy,
Must be the nicest place our family have ever stayed & will be returning soon. The cottages are spotless and have everything you need plus more. The staff are so friendly & helpful. We stayed in the Pine cottage which was so spacious, this was great as our son is in a wheelchair. Well done Jockhedge x
My family and myself have been several times to Jockhedge, and you are always made very welcome. The Cottages are always spotlessly clean and very well equipped.
The location is amazing with a very relaxed atmosphere, all the staff are great and cannot do enough for you.
Being a fisherman the lake is excellent now that the weed has been removed, and makes for a very relaxing few hours fishing or longer if you can get away with it.
So yes Jockhedge is certainly a place you can confidently recommend to your friends.
There are also very good eating places in the village that are all within walking distance, andthe beach is not too far away.
All in all a lovely place and comes highly recommended.
