We stayed at Harold's Farm before and after our wedding, and plan to book again for our anniversary.

A slight issue with the cooker, but soon sorted out.

Neighbours asked we parked at the front of the property, than at the side by the wall as instructed. Not a problem as plenty of room.

Relaxing and beautiful. Would recommend.

We stayed here as an after exam celebration for my daughter and her partner- we had a fantastic time. The weather was excellent and the cottage was very well equipped. Would love to come back and stay again. Definitely recommend to others just one thing there is not enough seating for 6 people in the living room for 6 people. . Thanks you

“Stunning location - excellent walking base full of character”
Reviewed 16 June 2016 for a stay in June 2016

This cottage is in a stunning peaceful location on the outskirts of Hayfield with many walking options from your front door and beautiful views from every window. It is full of character and has retained lots of the original features. The kitchen is modern and well kitted out and the main living room was spacious with a good sized dining table and a couple of chairs in front of the fire. Bathrooms are modern and clean and the bedrooms were all a good size although I think the mattress could do with replacing in the second double bedroom. With wifi, stereo, a few books and a couple of TVs there is plenty to do in a rainy day. Arrival and access was really straightforward. This cottage is located in a small hamlet with a few other houses, it is fairly remote so you either need a car or be willing to walk a couple of miles into the centre of Hayfield although the nearest pub is probably more like 1 mile away. This place is great for hikers or those looking for a peaceful getaway.

Management Response
16 Jun 2016
Mattresses in all bedrooms are brand new high quality pocket sprung and they all have mattress protectors so I'm not sure why it is suggested one of them needs replacing. Disappointed guest did not mention this before posing this otherwise good review.

“Utterly faultless on all counts. But the location...”
Reviewed 14 April 2016 for a stay in April 2016

The very best thing about this cottage was the location. We could do a different walk each day without needing to drive at all.

A clue was that the mass trespass onto Kinder Scout in 1932 started very close by. But even that did not indicate the range of fantastic walking options in any direction from the house.

Walk flat, climb up onto the Pennine Way along Kinder Scout to look at Kinder Downfall and Kinder Low. Walk around Kinder Reservoir. Pop up onto South Head, Visit the trig point at Brown Knoll. Head towards Edale down Jacob's Ladder. Or take them all in on one long walk. And enjoy the magnificent views the whole way around. The sense of success as you look back over your route from the comfort of Harold's Farm is immense!

And the cottage was perfect too. Warm, cosy and very well-equipped. Those Raymond Blanc stainless steel pans were excellent.

Great location for walks and a great view. We loved the huge log burner and the cottage was clean with modern facilities.
