“great views, great village, great cottage!!!”
Reviewed 31 December 2014 for a stay in December 2014

Thank you for letting us use Fairy Bank Cottage over Christmas! It had everything we needed and more.
Great hiking straight from the doorstep and a wonderful surprise for my six year old was the heavy snowfall on boxing day.Straight out of Frozen!
Being just off the main road which was cleared rather fast of snow and ice, was life saving and helped us get home on time.
Thanks Doug for our unforgettable break!

Me and 2 mates had a great stay at Fariy bank. Clean and tidy, could of had 6 of us staying and there would of been enough space.
Defiantly recommend!!

“Little Nice Place tucked under Kinder Scout”

The place is in a small pretty village Hayfied which is easily accessible. The village itself has couple of pubs which serve nice beer and great food. Lots of choices. The people were extremely friendly and seem to be enjoying themselves. And we did too! The property itself is really good. From the outside it may look small but once you enter there's load of space to relax and enjoy. The garden leads directly into an open field and has simply stunning views. You cant beat the view of Mother nature greeting you first thing in the morning when you wake up. The kitchen is functional with 2 people can easily work together and had all utensil, cutlery etc that one may need. The dining room is spacious with more than enough room to accommodate 4 people at once, however additional seating (like a sofa) would have been great. The lounge is really nice with a wood log burner which we really liked. Upstairs couple of spacious bedrooms and a loft conversion in which you can gaze stars on a clear night if you want to (which we did). The loft is enough to sleep 3 but there was no heating and could get cold in winter but that can be easily fixed by a portable heater.
The owner Doug was really helpful and visited us a couple times to make sure that were doing ok. He kindly recommended places where we could visit and enjoy. We really enjoyed our stay and would certainly stay again when we visit peak district again

Fairy bank cottage was absolutely lovely, Doug met us to give us the keys and was very accomodating, friendly and helpful!
The house is great and has everything you need, it's also very spacious! Much bigger than it looks in the photos. With 3 bedrooms there's plenty of space to sleep 5/6 easily.
The village that it is in, Hayfield, is just gorgeous! Couldn't have picked a better place and setting, just a few minutes walk and you have local shops, lovely pubs, butchers, a chippy! Everything you need really.

All in all a brilliant place, and definitely would visit again! Great value for money too.

Doug was extremely welcoming and explained to us which path to take for hiking. Lovely cottage with fireplace - towels provided. Very easy to locate and the booking procedure was easy - Doug responded very quickly. The kitchen utensils was very clean - nothing to complain about! There was also some chocolate to welcome us! However, the next door neighbour is very unfriendly! Nevertheless, we will definitely be back and will rent from Doug again if possible.
