Forest Inn is the ultimate in service, cleanliness and comfort. My husband worked in Akiruno (20 minutes away by train) for 2 /12 months and we stayed in this wonderful hotel. The staff made us feel at home, addressed all our needs and even helped us mail 4 packages home. The restaurants were pricey but you pay for good quality, service and convenience. The only one we did not try was the Chinese Rest. The Spa bath, included in the room charge, was very relaxing. I used it almost everyday for 2 1/2 months. The free shuttle was always on time. We were upgraded to a suite on our last week and we had a view of Mt. Fuji from our window. Thank you so much to Homa-san and all the staff, I wish I can name all of you. Keep up the good work!

Room Tip: We stayed in the standard room but wished we could have stayed in the suite, which was offered to us as free upgrade on our last week, since we stayed for 2 1/2 months. The view of Mt. Fuji always gave me a smile in the morning.

Had a three night stay here and was reasonably impressed. The room was on the eighth floor and was very comfortable and facilities were what you would expect. The only real complaints were a lack of wifi connection unless you were in the lobby and the price of the drinks in the hotel bar on the top floor which were reasonably expensive. The grounds and surrounding area were pleasant and the town amenities and station were in close proximity being only a short walk away.

Stayed in standard non-smoking twin room overlooking wonderful garden and mountains in distance. Staff were extremely courteous, friendly and had limited (but suffient) knowledge of English. Room was very quiet. Bed was nice and comfortable. Bathroom was well equipped, including deep bath. Room amenities included safe, hot water kettle, tea, coffee and fridge stocked with couple of cans each of complementary soda, beer and water. TV was limited to Japan language only. There was no iron or ironing board. Free internet was available through wired connection (cat 5 cable included). Wi-Fi was not available in any rooms (certainly not 5th floor) and according to front desk only available in lobby area. In either case, internet was somewhat slow. However, real down-side to the hotel were the expensive restaurants, especially dinner ; most likely a function of poor exchange rate with US dollar. Depending on the restuarant you could easily spend $75-125 per person for dinner and a couple of drinks.
Overall, very good hotel if you need to be in walking distance of Akishima, but look to venture out for dinner if you are trying to save a few $$$.

Very nice hotel - luxury style. Beutiful gardens surround it so nice for walking. Spacious rooms (modern). Very nice nightclub bar at top floor overlooking the city.

A bit far from the train station - 10 minutes walk and there is nothing else nearby.
Internet connection available but only on certain floors (Floor 5 has it).
No exercise room or pool etc.

Restaurants - Chinese (Very good), Classic Japanese(Good - many traditional japanes dishes that I had not experienced before).
