Description: Today the restaurant is an intimate and elegant, fully renovated, helpful and ideal for cocktail parties and private functions. Simply furnished with taste and a bit 'of originality, you will recognize it because of its dark green walls and touches of design of the 900, as some advertising of foods of the 50s, from well-known Sasso olive oil mayonnaise Orc. Osteria Arcadia can sleep in it until about 25 seats. The cuisine of Arcadia is fish and meat based, all prepared according to recipes handed down in the family for 3 generations takes care of food, including trade and taverns. The common feature that characterizes all of the menu is seasonal products, ie, a periodic availability of ingredients and dishes that gives you the flavor and freshness of each course during the year. And this is one of the secrets of our delicious a la carte menu, you'll see an offer that does not vary randomly from month to month.

We got to this restaurant right after a boat trip on the river (they let us leave the car in the parking lot of the restaurant during the boat trip), in the area where mussels and clams are grown. We were lucky with the weather, we sat in the little terrace outside and asked for the local river mussels (available only in April-May-early June; outside this period, they have the ones from the open sea, still good but not as sweet). We got a couple of appetizers based on mussels and clams, then a couple of first courses which we shared (they nicely prepared four plates with the "bis di pasta" already in them), and shared a single portion of "fritto misto di mare" - all delicious. With wine, coffee and water, the bill was Eur 120 for the four of us. The service was friendly and attentive, the place was quiet, we had a very nice time, worth the long drive (we came from Ferrara, about one and half hours drive. Will go back, again combining boat trip and lunch.

Moeche - soft shell crabs - dish typical of the zone - were worth the trip.
the gratinée seabass was a disappointment, really nothing special and a bit dry.
my biggest disappointment though, was the fact that they do not accept dogs. it might not interest the mosts, but for those who do go on vacation with their beloved it is a shame to have to go outside every now and then to check if she's fine in the boot of the car.
for a restaurant that has its history rooted in the nature, the link with the territory and that is a slow food district, I would expect a different attitude

We stumbled on this humbly looking restaurant by conincidence, as the resraurant we aimed for, Marina 70, was fully booked. The kitchen works with fresh local products and was surprisingly good. The service was amicable. As we needed to drive we didn't try the winecard.

We overnighted here (see separate review), and had lunch and dinner as well. At lunchtime there was only another couple from Austria, who had used the Slow Food guide in German to lead them here. The place is small, intimate and charming with only 7 tables. There is a separate menu for the mussels, cooked in 11 different ways; it is important to note the mussels have a "protected denomination origin" stamp awarded to the local place that cultivates them. Of course we tried one of the dishes and noticed they were less salty and larger than the mussels from the Tyrrhenian Sea. The dish was very tasty. We also tried the deep fried sardines/whitebait, eel and sea bass, as well as carpaccio di ricciola which was amazingly fresh. The spaghetti in tomato sauce was excellent in its simplicity and genuine flavours. To finish sorbet with mint and lemon - outstanding.
There is an adequate wine list, with a large selection of grappas. It is not one of the cheapest osterie we have been to, but the quality, variety and ambience are certainly worth the price and the drive. The osteria is run by Pamela with her mother Arcadia, and they made us feel welcome.
